Replacing Hypers

I've decided it is way to difficult to do hypers at my gym. The place I do them at isn't meant for them to be done, and it really grinds a raw place into my heels where I place them at to keep myself from tipping over. If it is meant to be done for them it was a horrible idea and the designer should be shot.

Anywho, what can I do to replace my Monday Hypers with the 5x5 routine? GM's? I'm adding in chin-ups twice a week and some other minor things and I figured I would get an opinion on somethinig to replace these.

Can you wrap a towel around where you place your heels? I do them at home and hook my heels under the bar, but wrap a towel around it first.

I'll try to find a way to wrap a towel around it. The problem is, the thing that I do them on is part Roman Chair connected to a Decline Ab Sit up bench. They have two different places to put your feet for Roman Chair. The problem is they don't have the rubber grip where you have to put your heels but I'll see if I can put a towel there.

This was the only thing I didn't like about joining this gym was the fact they didn't have a Hyper Place.

I went to a gym that half-way through my annual membership took out all the squat racks, power racks, barbells, incline/decline/flat bench.

Don't worry about the hypers too much.

There are some really good lower back exercises, and other supporting core work, you now have the opportunity to learn and incorporate.

Try good mornings, start light, you might love them and if you don't try something different.

Seriously, give GMs a try. They're a more functional/complete lift anyway since the only thing between the weight and the floor is your body.

you can do single leg standing "reverse hypers" on a cable machine if you have a leg attachment etc

ala Brad Cardoza

I'd recommend Stiff leg deadlifts. However, since your on a 5x5 im guessing you don't want to add another compound movement to the routine?..
