i just bought a pair of Sony Ear Buds. They go IN your ear. I will never buy a different pair of headphones again. They are 50 bucks on the SONy Website but i found a site for half that price and ordered them from them.

The quality is amazing in these things. And it blocks out all the outside surrounding noise at the same time. Great for the gym. They never fall out.

go to walmart. sony, phillips ... etc have all come out with cheap and really fucking good replacment earphones. apples speakers pop as soon as you listen to one rap song. my second pair i sweat into them and they broke i was like fuck this. i got a good sony (white) pair for 10 bucks!

I have some Etymotics that won't stay in for shit, plus they have zero bass for $140. I'm getting some Sony MDR-EX51LP because I want earbuds but the Ipod freebies aren't that bad.

Try the erc studio ear pieces. I have a set and they are incredible. Cost a 100 bucks, but well worth it!

I think the average is about $90 including an audiologist's appointment to take casts of your ears.

I got some replacement headphones for my Nano. Sony MDR-EX51LP. I LOVE THEM! I already had a pair of Etymotic ER-6 earbuds. I didn't like them because they wouldn't stay in my ears very well at all. I spent so much time adjusting the fit I just stopped using them. There were was no way I could have worked out with them. The thing about earbud type headphones is if you can't get them to fit into your ear there is practically no bass to them at all. These Sony's are the same type but they come with 3 sizes of earbuds so they're more likely to fit. They were a fraction of the price too....$25 versus over $100. The free Ipod earphones aren't bad but real earbuds are much much better.
