Removing annoying startup things on my internet browser... how??

Everytime I open Explorer, there is this dumb ass tool bar that is now opening up. With quick link buttons like Porn, Chat, Gambling, Sales, etc... that pops up too. Obviously I downloaded something that causes this. Is there anyway I can delete it and remove it from my machine?

it is an activeX control - likely similar to Gator or the google tool bar.
one of those annoying things that pop up and say "trust everything from XYZ Corp?" and you just clicked YES.

go into the control panel and the add/remove programs and then look for it and remove it that way.
it is feasible that it isn't in there, and then you need to do it the old fashioned way of removing its files and registry settings - which means you need to know what the thing is called and likely do a google search for other people that are having the same issue.

If going into the control panel doesn't work, don't take Happy's next piece of advice just yet. Alot of those things, you can actually just go to that company website. It will offer alot of buttons for searches, and then alot of times it will have one that says "go to powerblaster home" or something like that. Often-times there will be an uninstall link on that page.

I say just learn to love it.

I used to sit here and try to figure out how to get rid of herpes - but then I just decided to make an effort to enjoy the painful oozing sores.
in the end I'm much happier this way.
