That does sound reasonable, otherwise the car will end up on the other side of a wall. :worried:

Next bemer you get, splurge on the cold weather package. Remote starter is included. Greatest thing ever invented -- Better then penicillin. Better then tupperware.

Also hear Viper is good.

So how do you turn the heat on, from the night before?

Nah...they make them for manuals also.

The best one on the market is made by Viper (DEI). You should be able to purchase it and have it installed for under 2 bills. The top of the line w/ alarm and pager notification is about $400.00

which one?!

I went for the Viper 130, had everything I needed, and an extra channel for adding one function later; trunk open is what I want. good range, tiny remote was the selling point, they had two german brands too, but the remote was way to big. I have too damn many keys as it is, with a huge ass remote I will be Carl the Custodian.

The 160 looked cool, I just didnt want the extra size in the 4 button remote, and the extra bucks... do not even ask what this stuff costs in a country where a pint of ale costs $9.

I have one, but rarely use it. Evidently, you need to keep the sensors on the car cleaned up and the key fob battery fresh for it to work over longer distances.

There have been times where I have stood about 6" from my truck for the remote start up to work.

i had an add on unit on my last car..........brand name of bull dog. it worked fine.

in this area, cooling is more important than heating.....by being able to start up the car and turn on the a/c full blast a few minutes before getting in the car made the bulldog unit worth every penny.

So I assume the install must include bypassing the brake pedal interlock for
it to start the car without someone pressing the brake pedal ?

Which is a common safety item on many cars much like the clutch needing to be Depressed before the starter will engage..

I would like one for July/August to start the car and have the A/C getting things nice and cold in the mornings and afternoons..
