Sounds like a new screen name for me...

anyway, I was having high anxiety on the Lexapro. Nausea, lack of appetite and a lack of sleep were wreaking havoc on my bulking abilities, and my gym time.

So much for being depressed.

Now my doc has put me on Remeron. I don't feel the anxiety, plus I have a big appetite for some swaining, and I get to sleep longer at night.

For me REmeron made me gain WAAAY too much weight.

Glad you were able to see improvement without resorting to benzos.

Yeah, it is weird. I felt "up" mentally, but I was getting anxious. Gagging at the thought of food wasn't helping either, plus I was getting mad easier.

Did the Remeron make you gain weight no matter how much you ate? Or did it up the appetite, and you were grazing all the time?

though i'm all about not taking any more head meds..

i will say that i liked the remeron for the little bit that i was on it..

but as lumberg said.. i gained like 15 lbs on it.. but because i was eating all the time.. i'd have cravings for shit all the time..

that and it made me break out like a mofo..


did you get the soltab? strange ain't it - taking a pill at night then waking up the next morning happy as hell?

Funny you should mention your new drug, I just went on Wellbutrin so now I'm on a Lexapro/Wellbutrin stack. LOL

Did u talk to your doc about your "supplements?"

I am glad to hear the Lex is working for somebody. Gawd, I feel like a walking drug experiment.

Nope, I haven't talked to him about my supps. Not sure what kind of reaction I would get, so I will let sleeping dogs lie.

PS, I can't imagine what kind of raging lunatic I would be if I were on Wellbutrin and Lexapro.

One of the main side effects of Remeron is increased weight. Don't be so hard on yourself broly there are many anecdotal reports of weight gain on the med irrespective of caloric intake. Remeron is a potent antihistamine and 5ht-2 receptor antagonist. These two actions are part of the reason appetite is stimulated and metabolism is slowed down.

Woohoo!!! I am up for that. Before I too the Lexapro, I was up to 220, then I lost eight pounds in about 5 days because I wasn't eating on the Lex.

Now maybe I can get that back, and then some, especially when I hit the weights hard again.
