previous squat max of 265x5 back in late November, and that was ROUGH. 160-ish at the time. currently 174 @ 5'6" (and need to lose about 5lbs to get cut up).

squats today...parallel and raw except for the barbell pad....

95 x 15
135 x 12
165 x 10
205 x 8
235 x 5
255 x 3

275 x 1 (wanted to save some juice)

295 x 1

305 x 1

315 x 1

ALMOST good morning'ed the 315. took it down, smooth, in control. started to drive it back up and i bent forewards under the weight. without even thinking, i managed to straighten up and drive up simultanously.

i'm satisfied now. i said it last week that i would make 315 my b****.

and now i have.

afterwards, i managed to rack it. i was about to dump it, so i racked it fast. took a step back and the realization hadn't quite hit me yet of what i had done. halfway to the water fountain i realized i had beaten it.

went back over to unload the bar. guy that was working next to me complimented my lift, then said "you weren't parallel." i was in disbelief. he started laughing and told me he was joking, i was completely parallel and my form looked excellent.

finished the workout with stiff leg deads, 165x10, 175x8, 185x6, then seated/reverse calf raises 205lbs 5x12.

victory :)

Fucking-A! I knew you had it in you.

And here I am again, wanting to give karma but find I can't yet  Can I get a "D'oH!!!!!!!!" ;)

Seriously, again, awesome job.

thanks guys.

that whole fiasco took me about 50 minutes too. definetly took my time, stretching between sets, getting mentally pumped, etc. i think the last 3 sets only took me about 7-8 minutes though.

i STILL didn't feel warmed up though. it seems my legs like real heavy work to warm up. last week when i 5x5'ed 225, i finally felt warmed up on the 4th set.

not trying a max squat again for 4-6 months. 1 rep max wasn't the way i wanted to go, i would've preferred a 3 rep max, but i was determined to do 300+ before the semester was up.

now if i can bench 235 on Monday, i'll be happy.

and contemplating a 285 3 rep dead lift attempt. i'll see how i feel when warming up for that.

Awesome work brother!! I knew you would KILL THAT SHIT!! Congrats on the defeating the fear and hitting a landmark lift! I want to see you repping 300 on the deads soon and squatting in the mid 300's. Keep it up!!

:supercool

did I read that you were satisfied? Uh oh.........never be satisfied, solid to make a goal and reach it.........be content for the day, but tomorrow is a new beginning............

i was satisfied yesterday. now i'm thinking about my next leg workout and how much harder i'm going to have to push to get 315 for a few reps. never completely satisfied, just content for the moment :D
