Religious Right trying to take over county fair. I made another scene....

No, Gambino.....Libs are under the impression that everything would be perfect if a Dem was in office.

Things have never been perfect with a Dem in office..
Nothing is ever perfect no matter who is in office. However, this president has one of the lowest approval ratings of all time. America would be satisfied at this point with someone who isn't a bufoon and corrupt like Bush.

So there are other hateful mean people on elite. Congrats. You are in good company. You could post that you hate gay people and get k messages for it. Or, you could post that you hate black people and get bigots giving you k for it. However, you posted about how I have no morals because of the sweet child I'm carrying and you pat yourself on the back for your hatefulness because you aren't the only hateful person of the group. You should be so proud.

I got plenty of k messages and PM's on it too. However, I didn't have the mob mentality to mention them to you. Trust me, LOTS of people thought you were a raging asshole. I must have gotten 20 messages about it.
i do find it funny that you seem unconcerned with how he treated the christian dude
if it was a gay/women's rights/minority dude you'd be up in arms
but because he's a christian the abuse is okay

If we're talking about approval ratings, then why don't we talk about congress' rating?

bino, i'm always the one on here taking up for christians, and gays, and women, and minorities. I just joked that they interrupted his corn dog. Who is the first one to jump on lestat or javaguru when they go off on Christians? Me. You have a short memory.

He didn't hit them or try to stifle their freedom of speech. he just was unfriendly.

Plus, I was a bit offended that the GOP was doing work under the guise of handing out bibles. It is a cheap ploy. I wouldn't have liked that either. I don't think dems or republicans should hide behind the church for votes.

How does my support of civil rights make me a victim?

Also, since when is being a supporter of civil rights a bad thing? LOL.

Support for Civil Rights is a bad thing. Things have gone way too far and now our country is suffering from this politically correct chaos.

Stop with the oppression and human rights BS.. If you're so concerned, then please move to Africa and lend a hand.

You know Gambino, for as much shit-talk that you have directed towards me *in the name of debate* this thread wreaks of hypocrasy on YOUR PART. You just can't admit - YOU GOT OWNED and just be done with it... or that YOU WERE WRONG.

For fuck's sake I am still waiting for you to tell us when you are going to enlist. When will that be now that another board member has confirmed that you are NOT too old and that you can go and fight for our mighty nation?

WHEN ARE YOU HEADED OUT TO IRAQ?

Dude, I could give A FUCK about politics as they are all liars and thieves and I just dont see the sense of debating which one was LESS the liar and theif.

You fucked up, admit it and lets move on.

Darlin I have posted ENTIRE THREADS to publicly and privately acknowledge when I was wrong about something. Hell, I didn't have to wait to be called out about it either. See that is the difference between people like you and me. You lack honor. You lack balls.

You make some bullshit comment out of the side of your mouth about *having thought* about enlisting so as to seem that you are somehow better or more patriotic than the author of this thread. PUH-LEASE... you would sooner piss yourself than enlist.

You could not produce one fucking quote to support your arguement which you said you could EASILY. That makes you WRONG. (I am not talking about your assessemnt of the original post either, there you were in the right to express your disdain. That was your opinion and you were entitled to freely express it. There you were RIGHT 100%. But when you went on to try to defend Bush and his politics... that is where you took a turn down WRONG STREET.

Being the wife of a veteran I am OFFENDED that you could make such a fucking flippant comment about serving in the military during a time of war. That makes me sick. Anyone who would lightly make a claim like that is a pussy pure and simple. You know my thoughts on war. If you dont - here we go. IT IS ALL BULLSHIT.... Were you my son and there was a draft I would put your ass on the first plane out of here. You would NEVER hear me make false claims, "Yea, I thought about enlisting." Fucking man up or SHUT UP.

As for defending Ms PregoRae... that was easy. You claimed that she was preaching about MORALS. I pointed out to you on that thread as I am here - SHE WAS NOT. Simple.... shmimple.

:) I am so glad that we are all friends.

you don't know me or my situation
do you think it is easy to enlist and give up everything that i have worked for these last few yrs since graduating? leaving my family and dog? it's not, it's racked my brain for months now
if you cared to search my threads you would see that i have thought about this and asked advice.
it's not something i'm just gonna go out and do, i'm fuggin 29 yrs old, not a typical enlistee fresh outta high school. I don't jump into major situations without analyzing every little detail...maybe that is a bad trait, i dunno.
but i'm not 100% committed, if i feel that i am ready and that it is my best option i will consider it.

do not get emotional about this. i can hear the venom in your post. rather read "why i am not a christian" by bertrand russell when you finish that read daniel dennett. nail down those arguments and study the INTELLIGENT christian apologist kirkegaard. dont just rail against these people. they are operating out of emotion and not logic or reason. when you do so you are just like them. educate yourself and arm yourself with reason and science. get out and vote for candidates who are darwinian.(read intelligent) these ppl are dangerous and we must not relent.im sayin dont play their game.

Yeah, and I felt great about things after serving 18 months in Iraq and 14 in Afghanistan. That's why I get a lump in my throat when I hear what the ignorant libs have to say.

I dont HAVE TO know you or your situation.

Either you will do it or you wont. Dont go dropping it lightly as if this will somehow make your political convictions *more right* than those of anyone else.

Just like you said to me, "If you don't like this country (meaning the US) then fucking leave." My sister is leaving FOR GOOD on 23 AUGUST. As soon as I can I will leave WITH MY CHILDREN but I will make DAMNED SURE that there will be *some* positive changes for EVERYONE HERE before I go.

See, I have NO PROBLEM backing myself up as I do not make it a habit to write checks with my mouth that my ass can not cash.

Point is, we are ALL wrong at some point in time. Anyone who is NEVER wrong never has an opinion ergo - no brain. Me I'd rather be wrong SOME of the time and have something to contribute MOST of the time.

Just learn to eat a little humble pie on occasion. It doesn't make you weaker, darlin... makes you stronger to be able to expose a weakness as it garners respect from your peers.

Being anti-war doesn't make us anti-troops. I hate that argument. I take my hat off to the poor ladies and fellas for doing their duty. I think their lives are being risked for less than a noble cause, is all.

I was NEVER anti-troop. I am ANTI-WAR.

Some dumbass broad tried pulling that shit with me when I was anti-war back before it was popular to be anti-bush (go figure, I was a visionary then too huh).

Her logic?

WARRIOR is part of WAR. So if I am anti-war then that automatically anti-warrior = anti-troop. God was she dumb.

Anyway, my husband is a veteran he NEVER talks of his service unless I bring it up. He is too proud. And his country did NOT honor him for his service, but spat on him and poured piss on him.... And yet he harbors no resentment for people who were blinded by propoganda. They were helpless weak-minded sheep who didnt have a fucking clue how their government manipulated them.

Whenever he speaks w/another veteran or soldier who was in during peace he ALWAYS thanks them for their service as I do as well.

I have ALWAYS been appreciative of those who have defended the US (I was born here, so I am citizen by default) but that does NOT MEAN that I am pro-war... I am not and never will be until an opposing force shows up on MY doorstep. Then we will have no choice. Anything other than that is just the US trying to control whatever resources they want. Nothing wrong with that, but for fuck's sake - call it what it is. Dont give me this "defender of the world" BULLSHIT. Cause if that country aint owning what WE want, fuck the people, let them all kill each other.

HR, BM et al... while I agree that it is wrong to deny someone basic rights in America due to race, religion, gender, or even sexual orientation; why is it wrong to point out that the PC pendulum has swung too far in the other direction? As a white upper middle class male, I feel that the attempts to ram "affirmative action" to right some wrong of the past down my throat is just wrong. It's life, liberty, and the PURSUIT of happiness not guaranteed handouts to make up for slavery, suffrage, or lack of acceptance in mainstream society for some behaviors. The AFL-CIO does more damage to core American values on a regular basis than anyone in a pointy white hat by their veneer of legitimacy when all they are trying to do is destroy our values and replace them with open borders, a socialist "provider" goverment, enormous taxes on hard working people, and a generally lazy population that does not want to fend for itself but rather depend on handouts. Look at western EU for an example of what we will become.... weak and worthless, afraid to raise a hand to strike down terrorism while they sit around and bitch about working a real 40 hour, or more in many of our cases, work week.

You will get NO ARGUEMENT from me about all the fucking political correctness either. I pointed out on another thread the other day about interracial marriage in the US. Some of the comments made in that article would have been HORRIBLY offensive had they been made by white people in regard to any other race/religion, etc.

There are no easy answers...

We just all have to open our eyes and ears and learn to question and think for ourselves and not be so swayed by all the propoganda.

My grandfather committed suicide after serving in WWII. He fought in the battle of the bulge and came back and had to go to a mental hospital and was left rocking and babbling about "the children."

My other granfather served in Korea and WWII. He died last year and had a full military funeral.

I come from a long line of soldiers. My ancestors can be traced to fighting in the civil war, etc.

Don't come off with that anti-troop bullshit. That is so stupid.

Anyone who doesn't support bush must automatically hate the enlisted men and women and hope they all die over there, right? Get a better argument.

I can't thread search. I'm not plat because I save all my pennies to buy stuff for my illegitimate child, remember?

You shouldn't use every political debate to pull out stuff that is personal like that. It isn't cool to bash people about their kids.

There are certain hateful things that you just don't say, bino. This is a thread about politics. You don't win an argument by a verbal scorched earth campaign.

Likewise, hurting me over not having a daddy for my child the other day was just wrong. I wasn't saying a bad word to or about anyone, and that really hurt my feelings when you said that to me. Don't you think I worry about my child, if we will have enough money, enough time, etc? I worry about what to tell him about why his dad doesn't see him etc. You didn't need to bring it up to hurt me.

I don't know what in my post made you think that I was saying i was morally superior. I was merely emphaizing that is a big part of a strict southern upbringing. There were plenty of times where I thought my mom was way overboard on that respect thing. It is just how I was raised.

I'm wondering if there isn't something weird going on with you right now that made you attack someone who, frankly, really always liked you. You've always seemed good natured and kind to me before.

Maybe you have a yeast infection, you bloated fucking urchin...lol.

"Are we fighting a war on terror or aren't we? Was it or was it
not started by Islamic people who brought it to our shores on September
11, 2001?

Were people from all over the world, mostly Americans, not
brutally murdered that day, in downtown Manhattan , across the Potomac
from our nation's capitol and in a field in Pennsylvania?

Did nearly three thousand men, women and children die a
horrible, burning or crushing death that day, or didn't they?

And I'm supposed to care that a copy of the Koran was
"desecrated" when an overworked American soldier kicked it or got it
wet?...Well, I don't. I don't care at all.

I'll start caring when Osama bin Laden turns himself in and
repents for incinerating all those innocent people on 9/11.

I'll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle East
start caring about the Holy Bible, the mere possession of which is a
crime in Saudi Arabia

I'll care when these thugs tell the world they are sorry for
hacking off Nick Berg's head while Berg screamed through his gurgling
slashed throat.

I'll care when the cowardly so-called "insurgents" in Iraq come
out and fight like men instead of disrespecting their own religion by
hiding in mosques.

I'll care when the mindless zealots who blow themselves up in
search of nirvana care about the innocent children within range of their
suicide bombs.

I'll care when the American media stops pretending that their
First Amendment liberties are somehow derived from international law
instead of the United States Constitution's Bill of Rights.

In the meantime, when I hear a story about a brave marine
roughing up an Iraqi terrorist to obtain information, know this: I don't
care.

When I see a fuzzy photo of a pile of naked Iraqi prisoners who
have been humiliated in what amounts to a college-hazing incident, rest
assured: I don't care.

When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head when he is
told not to move because he might be booby-trapped, you can take it to
the bank: I don't care.

When I hear that a prisoner, who was issued a Koran and a prayer
mat, and fed "special" food that is paid for by my tax dollars, is
complaining that his holy book is being "mishandled," you can absolutely
believe in your heart of hearts: I don't care.

And oh, by the way, I've noticed that sometimes it's spelled
"Koran" and other times "Quran." Well, Jimmy Crack Corn and-you guessed
it-I don't care !!

"Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a
difference in the world. But, the Marines don't have that problem." --

be a nation gone under." Also by.. Ronald Reagan

One last thought for the day:

In case we find ourselves starting to believe all the
Anti-American sentiment and negativity, we should remember England 's
Prime Minister Tony Blair's words during a recent interview. When asked
by one of his Parliament members why he believes so much in America, he
said: "A simple way to take measure of a country is to look at how many
want in... And how many want out."

Then when we walked to the other end of the fair there was a large barn that is normally ran by another local church(I live in an area that is one of the US's most populated church/population ratio) and it was taken over by...........none other than........."HempHill Smokers BBQ!" proudly displaying their slogan "If you ain't smokin, you ain't livin!". YES!!! Thank you Lord! There is a god afterall!!!!!!!
I understand your motive, but you acted inappropriately.

uuum we NEED the oil

What are we SUPPOSED to do?

If we dont control things over there ....ummm.....someone else will. And we might be speaking their language instead.

He who controls the oil controls all. Its sucks but its life in this world. Thats how this world works.

catch 22. Most things are though.

American immigrants speak English but muslim is the fasted growing religion in the US.
We have oil in canada, why did the US not invade us?!
We don't need oil to live. We have the technology to live off other means

I could be argued that it was started alot earlier. The hard part is determining who struck first because each side will point to the other. I agree that 9/11 is a significant point, but I'm not so sure it's the start per see.

True, but sometimes the easiest way to destroy a country is to flood them with your 'own' people.

i appreciate YOU. as for your commander and chief well thats a different story. i am not going to present you with an argument. you are a soldier, you are doing and have done what you believe to be the right thing. how can that be argued?
Absolutely. The guy manning the Berlin Wall who gunned down all people who tried to cross it was only following orders. I don't blame him either. I blame the guy who told him to stand on that wall and shoot.

Do you seriously believe that we're far enough along to scrap oil? Really? I mean...really?

That will be your little secret then Blue.

Canada already has the infrastructure of their own to provide us with as much of their oil, at low prices that we want.

They are the #1 US supplier of oil...and Hollywood actors.

Ummmmm...that wasn't Saddam who commited 9/11, but the unrelenting flag waving and emotional argument fooled most of the US into believing it was.

For the record, oil is a finite resource and there is NO WAY that our lives could go on the way we know it, without it. And I am not talking about gasoline. Psssssssshhhhh that is just a drop in the bucket. If we came up with an alternative energy resource tomorrow and the entire world stopped using gasoline it wouldn't even make hardly a dent.

Think plastic.

Think fabric.

...just sayin is all.

I was anti this war from waaaaaaaaaaay back when it was totally politically INCORRECT to be so and now I gotta LOL at all the Johnny-come-lately sheeples that are suddenly *horrified* at our commander-in-chief for his *true intentions*. Were any of you really THAT naive.... fuck me, look what happened to our troops who returned from Vietnam. Why am I still surprized that so many people in the US allow themselves to be spoonfed this government's propoganda?

Sheesh....

Yes, it's finite in the sense we use it much faster than nature creates it. However, synthetic oil has been made since the 1940's and the primary limitation on switching energy sources is cost. The most optimistic estimates for "easy to get" oil is 30 years......Your view on our adaption most likely is determined if you are a Malthusian, Neo-Malthusian or Club of Rome theorist. :)

Can we all just agree that corndogs are the most awesomestest and let the rest go?

I went even further expressing concerns about the welfare of returning veterans. I'm a letter writer when it comes to veteran issues and I knew there would be a lot of physically and emotionally maimed young people coming back to America.

Please don't little troublesome little things like "reality" and "truth" get involved with their thinking and agenda. We all know that the hijackers were from Saudia Arabia. We all know that there were no WMDs. We all know that it was one lie after another lie in conjunction with dismissals of any general or war expert who suggested otherwise.

This is why we all know the Bushie Administration will go down in history as the worst/most corrupt ever.
