I know this is way off topic and might get moved but if I posted in chat they wold prolly just talk shit.

he said just send candy so he can give it to the Iraq kids but fug I got to send him something.

thanks

your thread is ambigious.

kindly elaborate

i am sensisitive to the the needs of our friends serving overseas

hes in the military im guessing. bro empty out a bottle of listerine and put some fuckin whiskey in it. thats what i liked. btw probly wrong place to post this thread.

You know, it's good to have candy and all, especially if that's what he's asking for. When I was overseas though I liked getting pictures of my friends and letters more than anything. No clothes or toilet paper though, stuff like that can be aquired over there. In the letters make sure you tell him every little thing that's happening, keep him updated. The coolest thing to do is to get an assload of people he knows to write, like everyone he knows, and put it in a box with a lot of candy. If you have the money for it, a PSP would be cool with some games, but it would probably get ruined pretty quick with all of the sand. It was cool once, my dad was a teacher and made his whole class write me letters. It probably didn't seem like much at all to them but I thought they were very cool!!! Good luck!!!

well im there right at this very moment and most of the guys here are right, we can get toilet stuff here pretty easy, the letters from all the friends are good, put together a photo album for him or if you guys have a party or some shit video it and burn it on a disk for him. its good to be in touch with whats going on at home or with buddies.

Kinda cheesy.....but ... Everyone on the boat awaited my care packages from home...(in the NAV 4 yrs) especially when mom made cookies, brownies, sealed them up right and sent, like 20lbs of it (call his mom and see if she does that for him) ....everyone got some...everyone loved it.... the letters and pics were best....

have a few army friends
they are always looking for stuff
military guys get free food ,free housing and have a decent amount of cash to spend every month

what ever you send him he will prb be able to resell it and make a huge profit.

i'm over here right now too. like has been said, letters and pics. A movie clip of things that you wouldnt even think of, small things, is diff the best. if he fishes film the lake, going down the lake in a boat. if he hunts, film it from your stand to show him where you are. include him in the fun things, going out, lunch with buddies. you realize those are the thing that matter when they are gone. just don't stop doing little small things. it doesnt take much, even once a week. his family should take care of the rest but if not send a film of his kid playing with their dog.
it will make him feel included and keep him from feeling so far away. i have found my BEST friends while I have been gone. hell of a man to plan on this for a friend bro. it will mean more to him than you know.

Heavy duty,
The best things to send him is hygiene items..Try baby wipes, shampoo, waterless shampoo, deoderant, etc. Also on slow moments it can be boring so a few magazines to read just pick a topic that you think he may like. Hand held battery operated games like poker, etc. A deck of cards....Food items are good also. Cans of tuna, beef jerky,a can of nuts, anything that will not go bad with shipping or the weather there.
My mother often sends out packages to people and these are some items not only she sent out but also people I know whos hubbies are out there.

Also send him some pens and notebooks with envelopes so that he can write to his loved ones.If he has a wife and children maybe consider a battery operated small tape player so that his wifey can record hers and the childrens messages for him to hear.

there are little tootbrushes that fit like a ring around your finger. and baby wipes

my brother cherished both

Magazines of topics he likes.

Naked pics of his girls. (that you took)

That kind of stuff.

Do what I do for a my brother in the Marines .Using a digital video camera to act has his eyes one night you and a few friend you both hung out with hit a few bars and then hit a few upscale / nice titty bars and clubs(go places he's never been) and when you tell the girls and the bouncers it's a dvd for your friends or bro's over seas they don't mind a few minutes of recording .Make sure to pack in a few bottle caps and napkins(lipstick stains and stripper names are a good idea) of the places you go have them stamp a business card get him free admission for when he comes home. The most important thing is to film everything that happens make him feel like he's there. Just don't get stupid and show him depressing stuff keep it up beat and make sure the night flows. The best thing at the titty bar was i paid(make sure it's his type of women no c-section scars or bullet wounds!! ) a hot"dancer" a fifty and with the camera as my eyes she gave me the baddest lap dance ever. (got my boxers tight I'll tell you.) Also Edit in you guys having fun get a few chicks to flash the camera saying what's up or we support you type of saying. Then get in you 4x4 take him off roadin or drag racing or even a few minutes of fishing reeling in the big one.You know all the stuff he did back in the real world remind him of what he's protecting. Also go around town and get a few local people to say hello stuff like that ,then burn him a few copies to show his homies on station and if you can buy that lap dancing strippers undies and seal them in a freezer bag right after she give them to you(have her either sign a napkin and kiss it or the undies if she's freaky and drop it in the bag also) just make sure she gets them "moist" for you.(that "ole de vag" scent will last weeks in a zip lock) Hell it may cost more but your bro's worth it. For my ending the next morning we all gathered around the town sign and had a shot of Jack with him(pour the Jack under the lens so it looks like he's drinking it and wrap it up with all the names of people in the video and who helped make it......FULLMETALTRUCKIE

im currently deployed over here, and i know i love it when people package alcahol and send it, but it has to be packaged carefully so that no one knows what it is, you need to carefully tape the lid and make sure it is filled to the brim so that there is no sloshing. i also like anything homemade, cookies, deerjerkey, etc. letters from home are always nice and pictures to check out when your lonely. candy, magazines, baby wipes are awesome over here to bathe with when you cant get back to the base for a few days or just run out of water. if the guy works out, protein bars or a small box of protein powder, creatine is kinda useless cause you cant stay hydrated enough to get the best effects from it. hope this helps man

I spent time in the first gulf war. We got hundreds of "care" boxes -- on our way back as it turned out-- from various groups. But the BEST was the personal stuff like FULLMETALTRUCKIE described. Except his suggestion would be x10 anything I saw.
