rotation was back in lumbar last night. I rolled about 15 minutes on the MA roller, and it got the rotation out so I went to bed pain free, and woke up being able to stand upright without any stiffness. Lovin it.

--However the powerful Speaker of the House, Democrat Nancy Pelosi may have solved the conundrum. She told reporters that she will support funding US forces in Iraq if the
Pentagon meets strict guidelines mandating proper rest, training and equipment for the troops, the Washington Post reported Friday. The move would effectively pull the plug on war funding, since the all-volunteer US military is already stretched thin and unable to supply enough armored vehicles and body armor for all deployed soldiers."If we are going to support our troops, we should respect what is considered reasonable for them: their training, their equipment and their time at home," Pelosi told a small group of reporters, according to the Post."What we're trying to say to the president is, you can't send people in who are not trained for urban warfare ... who are not prepared to contend with an insurgency."

IMO:
What I find friggen hilarious are all the college students who are protesting the war. Hmmmm Lets not serve our country, forget the people their own age who are protecting their freedom and their family, and then let’s belittle them. The war was inevitable. Despite decisions that were poorly made along the way, like the recent idea to send 20,000 more troops in now. What’s going to happen when we are stretched even further on military support here in our own country and another attack happens? I see the draft coming….. That’s why the college students protest the war. They don’t want to be drafted. I spoke with a Russian friend and he said if the U.S. goes back to the draft they are as bad as Russia. He went on to say,”Once the draft is underway that the military benefits will go down since people will be forced in.” Well I’m here to tell you the military monetary benefits do not even come close to weighing what these people do. How do you pay a baseball player millions of dollars to swing a bat, and then somebody else who puts their life on the line $20,000 a year and is on food stamps as well to support their family and is never home?!?! That’s where our country is wrong. Off soap box for today LOL

Hunger is starting to be there a tiny bit. Although it has taken me almost an hour and a half to eat my breakfast so far and I still have half of it left LOL
Noticing weight is highest on Monday’s and Thursday’s so far. Had extra salt yesterday so I know some weight increase is due to that and not getting my 1.5 gallons in yesterday 

I’m sick of hearing about the negative stuff surrounding Iraq so I am looking for positives and going to exploit those:

Women in Iraq:
“..Both women fear that if extremists are elected, they might consider it a mandate to resurrect measures such as Resolution 137, an initiative defeated by the current governing authority in Iraq. They say it was an attempt to restrict women's rights by extremist religious leaders who wanted to enforce Sharia law, which recently has been interpreted to limit women's rights, instead of civil law. Al-Suwaij said Resolution 137 would not have allowed women to leave their houses without asking for permission from their husbands, while Talabani pointed out that the resolution would have allowed men to marry several women without going to a court.
"We would have been in a worse situation than the women of Afghanistan before the American occupation," Al-Suwaij says, referring to the lives of Afghan women under Taliban rule.
…”Talabani says that despite running in the election, the women of Iraq have a long way to go before Iraqi men treat them as political or social equals.
"In this first election, the candidates will be elected based upon religious orientation," Talabani told Women's eNews in December. "This will be a party-based election, not based upon their points of view on issues or projects."

Despite the many battles ahead for equality, both women are hopeful of the role women could play in Iraq. "We, the women, are building bridges among cultural, ethnic, and religious divides," Talabani said.”

Yes I do it on a machine, but you can also do it laying on a bench or wrapping a therma band around a pole for resistance and adduct your shoulder blades.

Evidence of improvement in Iraq.

An important step in stemming the violence in Iraq is to find a formula to share the country’s oil revenues fairly between the three main groups: Shiite, Sunnis, and Kurds. Iraq is preparing to take a step in the right direction by providing opportunities for foreign oil firms to invest in the country, thereby increasing its output and revenues:
The production-sharing agreements (PSAs) would allow oil giants to sign 30-year contracts for extracting Iraqi oil.
Under PSAs, the state retains legal ownership of its oil but gives a share of the profits to companies that invest in infrastructure and in operating the wells, pipelines and refineries.
The newspaper [the Independent] said that under the draft law, oil companies could recoup 60 to 70 per cent of revenue until initial costs had been recovered, which compares to around 40pc usually.
Along the same lines, Lt. General Graeme Lamb, Deputy Commander of Multinational Forces-Iraq, sees 2007 as the year that Iraq moves forward, and says he sees plenty of progress to base his optimism on:
Let me give you an example. I was out at Hit the other day, Ramadi. The battalion commander out there, young battalion commander — actually, I suppose he's not that young; he just looks it — had been in Ramadi two years before, had done a full year's tour. As far as he was concerned, he always just seemed to be going backwards. When I saw him the other day, as far as he was concerned, they were making huge progress.
Ramadi. Four months ago I don't think there was any policemen in the town. Seven hundred and ninety-one now.
They were shot at from a building. Two hundred policemen drawn together surrounded the building, cleared it. Now, that's just an example of some progress.
I then look at some of the economic issues. I look at the megawatts of power that are coming on line. I see some of the reconstruction programs that are going out. Now, that gives me a degree of optimism.
I see this prime minister. I see this government. I see the challenges they face, and I'm not trying to dismiss the difficulties or trying to give you some sort of political upbeat spin. I don't do optimism. I don't do pessimism. I just do realism as I see it. And I do spend a lot of time out here. I spend a lot of time out here. I got a feel for the Arabs.
So it's just the way I see it, and it's not sort of in effect trying to — I don't know — make something out of nothing. I think the situation here — you know, as someone once said — I think it was a field marshal of ours said things are never as good or as bad as you think they are. I just see these in fact at a point in turning.
Mosul and al Qaim are other areas where significant progress has been made over the past year. In Mosul, Iraqi police and army forces have brought law and order to a historically violent area:
“Yes, there is violence in this city. But, there is violence in American cities that have nearly two million people in their population as well,” said [Maj. Gen. Benjamin R.] Mixon.

Recognizing the similar levels of violence in a comparable city in America, Twitty paints an optimistic picture of the current state of Mosul and Ninewa Province.

“Amidst the turmoil and issues that persist in Iraq, there is a semblance of peace and normalcy in the north. Ninewa’s leadership works hard to provide its citizens security, build its economy, and implement programs that will continue to keep sectarian violence from the province,” said Twitty. “One thing we cannot do is attempt to put an American standard on any Iraqi city,” said Twitty. “We have to remember that this country lived under a dictator for more than 30 years. The major and significant difference between U.S. cities and Mosul is the use of improvised explosive devices, rocket-propelled grenades, and other military - grade weapons. Anti-Iraqi forces persist in their attacks, but the Iraqi security forces, consisting of the Iraqi Army, border patrol and police, continue to quell those attacks daily,” Twitty continued.
Al Qaim was frequently called the “Wild West,” but the Marines cleaned the area up in 2005, and the situation is improving daily:
Two years ago, the same streets were fraught with roadside bombs and snipers, and sellers and buyers stayed away. The area was considered too dangerous even for a quick tour by a U.S. general in his armored Humvee.
The Al Qaim region routinely was described as an out-of-control "wild west" where the Marines were fighting, with only limited success, to control the smuggling of insurgent fighters and weapons from Syria.
Today, Marines walk the downtown beat, chatting with residents, fielding their complaints, encouraging them to contact the Iraqi police if they suspect insurgent activity.
In a country studded with areas where the United States either has failed or had only limited progress toward stabilization, Husaybah and the surrounding Al Qaim region stand out as a success, officials said.
Unfortunately, the American people aren’t hearing about this, as Army medic Corporal Ignacio Garza observes:
Based on his experiences in Iraq, events there are not as bad as the news media make it seem, an Army medic from Adrian said.

Cpl. Ignacio Garza, a medic in the 1st Armored Division home on leave after serving in Iraq for six months, said the troops don’t watch television news for war updates because they think none of the networks show an accurate depiction of what’s happening. He said they ignore large parts of the country, including the Kurd-dominated north, that are stable.
In fact, if the mainstream media isn’t ignoring a story in Iraq they could just as easily be making one up. For the second time in six weeks, the Associated Press has put out a story from Iraq that isn’t backed by the facts:
The Associated Press has again put out an Iraq story detailing events that did not happen. This time, it involves an airstrike that, " killed a family of four during a firefight." However, according to the press desk of Multi-National Forces-Iraq, no air strike happened during that firefight, and MNF-I also reported that which six insurgents were killed by American troops in Baghdad on January 1. This is the second time in roughly six weeks that the AP has been caught fabricating events.

Fri. Wednesday I went. I'm thinking I am doing something on the leg press (pushing with my rt leg more) that is causing my pelvis to rotate. I have watched and detected every time after leg day is when my pelvis is rotated. So... Going to bemore cautious of what I am doing here.

i have the same problem on the leg press....i always feel like my right leg is getting more work done then the left. probably do to my 3 left knee surgeries...my body has automatically adopted a safe mde for running, jumping, lifting etc. have you ever had any leg or knee injuries?
 
Why don't you try single leg press? I found my left side always comensating with every exercise so I started doing single with a lot of exercises and noticed a huge difference.

No actually I had surgery on my right ankle.... I am very right dominant. I also have a curve in my spine which already predisposes me for a high and low hip scenario which only adds to the discrepancies I have with strength differences.

I do do unilateral work here and there, but since my squat form is compromised this is one way I can hit legs hard and heavy. Unilateral work has it's place as well. It's just not in the program at this time.

Yes knew this was going to be a tough week. I can see differences now. Body fat has dropped because pinches are definitely not watery and things look and feel different.
I was hungry when I woke up and had that feeling I really didn’t want to do a.m. cardio, despite the obvious in my head my body got up and did it. I need to get some pictures up on my bathroom mirror for some a.m. motivation. I’m still not taking any cardio breeze trying to save that for later on.

Awesome leg work-out last night. Hit PR on sled. The sled is a lot better (we were at a different gym). Despite it being heavier I felt like I was more even (using both legs evenly) as I pressed.

Some guy who was pretty hot… and I have seen before actually last year during my training stopped by and asked me if I wanted him to sit on the sled since no more plates could fit on it. I said,”No I’m o.k. for right now.” He said,”I’m kinda embarrassed that is more then I can do.” Then went on to ask,”Are you a competitor?” I said,”Yes, Figure.” He said,”Figure?? Not a power lifter?!?!?” Totally shocked. Me smiling,”Nope!”

Getting less sleep this week 6 hours at the most a night right now to cram in everything I need to get done before the tip to the Arnold this weekend. Forgot how much fun it was to get my armpits waxed :rolleyes: Did that yesterday.

Also finally just about have all my ‘donated’ time into the school! So I can start getting that huge (insert sarcasm) paycheck now. I never did massage work for money for the school it was all a donation of my time about 200 hours. I still have about 20 hours left in class time, but for weekends I can at least get some monetary compensation. So this is one goal I had on my New Years’ resolutions complete ;) This will help me on my resume. I also have one conference weekend scheduled, the weekend after the Arnold in Vegas for continuing education credits for my NSCA side of the house. I have one more conference/CEU I am looking at for massage the weekend after my May 12th show which is about movement therapy. I am also getting the inside of my house painted to prep for sale next year. Got some warm friendly colors picked out, along with switching out some light fixtures. This paragraph will take care of 6 of my 43 New Years’ goals for 2007.
Things are coming together for me and switching careers… moving right along… ;)

;) If you put a limit on weight that is what holds you back just do it. I think that was the first time I actually looked at something and kinda shocked myself. I started on that very leg press and I recall when 2 45's on each side were tough 2 years' ago. I used to think it was mad heavy weight to have 4 plates on each side and thought how strong people were then. I think I looked at it and that crossed my mind after that guy said something. I had every 45 plate that that press could hold on it and I was pressing for reps not even PR. Definitely an awe moment, but what anyone is capable of if they don't worry about numbers and just work to progress smartly.

Just slept in some today (till 6:20), but still hit a.m. cardio.
I was friggen stiff and sore yesterday all over. I took 2 Ibuprofen, and ma rolled my back some. No lower tightness at all today. My legs were really heavy and triceps were sore.
So I figured extra sleep would help recovery ;) Plus my mood.
Getting toes done tonight, eyebrows waxed, and the gym of course. As well as packing for the Arnold ;)
Oh and I compared pictures and weights last night with last diet down… Same week in diet down last year, and I am 15 pounds heavier right now with just about the same body fat (it appears that way) OHHH YEAH LOL

Well I have a photo shoot this weekend with SBT... I wish I were less body fat but because it was not my goal for this shoot, and any pictures to start my portfolio I'm not going to complain with. Plus I'm getting paid ;) This is another step towards my goal of hitting the cover of a magazine one day, prefer Oxygen or Muscle and Fitness For Her :heart:
As far as pictures for here... Well when I get some time.. next few weeks are bad. I seriously don't have any morning time to take pictures right now. I have Vegas next weekend. So maybe the following weekend I'll get some up here. Even though that weekend I have to be up at 5 because I am teaching at the school. I'll carve some time somewhere. They may be in another couple weeks though. So it could be like my 8 week out shots.

Mid back was jacked this a.m. feels like I have a rod in my back, rt hip was rotated forward as usual. I only had issues with flexion not extension. Normally have issues in both!

Just wanted to let y'all know that everyone's phone was jacked during the Arnold -- I tried to text/call Roony and nothing worked, so we didn't get to meetup either. And all the texts I tried to send and that were trying to come IN to my phone suddenly ALL came in or went out last night when I was back in Orlando -- 20 messages! I was like "Eeeeek!"

So don't feel too bad -- we all had phone issues this weekend.

Getting application together for my massage national cert. So I can send it out and get scheduled for the exam. Have 2 massage workshops I’m looking at. One in May for movement therapy, one in June for stone massage. I will have more clients from stone, but the first one goes along with what I’m interested more in… so deciding what to do.
Stone is easy on me to apply to people, and actually they charge more for that?!?! I don’t understand.

Not after competition though LOL Might be the only time he would beat me. Once I get my strength back though and back into bulking again... GAME ON We can do a live video like that chick Ulter posted up! ;) I plan on outdoing that weight next season. Hmmm or maybe I'll go back to that sled and try it again for sh!ts and giggles in a couple weeks. LOL

Hey sweets :heart:Glad 2 echo in your head.. not makin your heart cry though. You'll figure it out!!! You find imitations for your favorite foods and readjust your taste buds. Once you go back and try that food again (9 out of 10 times for me) I don't like it!! Like I LOVED Cracker Barrel biscuits. I could eat like 8 in one setting. I went back pre cut this time around (since I still hadn't been and was supposed to go for breakfast day after my last competition) and I bit into one.. and it was totally not the same. I tasted all the salt and it was gross to me. So what your favorites are right now can eventually be like blah to you over time.
Just have to be creative in teh kitchen playing with stuff!! Changing stuff up. I eat chicken 4 times a day and it's almost different every time. Day in and day out. I would be sooo sick of chicken if I cooked it the same way. Have to switch it up, make it exciting. Like the obese thread... Monatony would kill me.

thank you for your suggestions, they are working slowly but doing the job. Another question for you.... my hubby bought me one of those magnetic bracelets (yup we are desprite) but what do you think, hoggy or not???

I know.. It depends... I think right after this cut I'm going to work on sprints like you and a few other's suggested and bleachers. Not focus to much on upper body.
I don't really want to do powerlifting competitively. I like the fun of it just going in and feeling strong and kicking my butt. Of course watching peeps faces drop is great as well LOL
If I can keep the leg press I am using I know I could pound more next season break 1,000 easily because the angle is so much better for my positioning, even though the sled itself is heavier. I haven't had the back issues as much lately either. It's mostly mid-thoracic tightness which I'll probably always have somewhat due to the curve.
Setting some goals though I would like to deadlift 375-400, leg press 1100, and bench 185 next round-winter. I have a powerlifter in mind at my gym (female) I think I may tag for some assistance on some new stuff like power cleans, hangs, etc... Wish my back bone was straight I would tear up the squats!!

That gets your hips, joints, back everything niced and lubricated and moving for the day. I can see you just jumping out of bed running around all day on a stiff back...
SERIOUSLY I have a sheet that has movement therapy and once you get used to it it'll take 15 minutes to get through. I KNOW, let me say that agian I KNOW!!! it would help you if you did it and stuck with it even if your back was feeling great. It's something you have to do everyday. I can ask SBT to scan it in and e-mail it to you if you will stick with it?!?!

Magnet therapy is another type of therapy that works with polarity. I don't know much about it. I know a guy studying it... I'm not so sure that will help your back. I'm more a western type of thinking person. I do shiatsu, reflexology, and some mild energy types of work when people have fibromyalgia or are so sore you can hardly touch them.. beyond that I don't know a whole bunch because it just doesn't interest me.

REALLY a lot of people can heal themselves if they are told something works and they believe in it... it kinda of breaks the psyche into thinking it's injured.
and helps the body to heal. That's why I always tell people don't think negatively it's hard for the body to heal or move forward when it's surrounded with junk thoughts.
Then again not stopping and giving your body a break and your thinking mentally your body will repair itself is foolish.

Please please please send it my way. You pretty much described my morning LOL. The only real difference i noticed with the magnetic is I sleep WAY better, I didn't know it was supposed to help with sleep either, but again it still could be a mental thing.

I hear what you are saying about the stretching, I do try do it everyday but if I skip even a day I feel it.
