Red Meat

When on a cutting diet,
How much red meat should people eat? I heard a ot of different opinions about red meat. Some say its too fatty and some say its a great source of protein.

Depends on the cut. Super strict dieters will avoid red meat altogether because even the leanest cuts are fattier than poultry or fish. If you get a good lean cut of beef and mix it up with your chicken and tuna, you should be ok.

It depends.

I think its ok to eat a ton of very lean steak (eye of round, top round, etc.). This is pretty low in fat. Anyway, what really matters is energy balance.

Red meat is appetite suppressing and has a lot of good stuff in it. Read the article linked to in my "B E E F" thread.

When cutting, I eat lean cuts of red meat, like 96 percent fat free, don't buy that cheap shit, you know the 73 percent lean, that's like 99 cents a lb, and makes people fat. IMO red meat it a great source of protein, and its more filling, so I won't load up on tons of fat or calories, the rest of the day.

very lean red meat is almost as lean as chicken

I consider red meat to be right at the top of the charts in terms of food for muscle building. I cook it on a foreman's grill and it tatses great every time and helps me grow!

Super lean ground beef or Ultra lean ground beef are great when it comes to eating red mean (92% and 95% lean). You cannot go wrong when you use this...
