Red Karma - What Plans?

I can only recall hitting you with green once. Why? I don't like most of your posts, especially the ones directed at me, they are generally negative and derogatory. How many times have I bombed you? Not enough.

How many red hits have been to platinum members? Maybe 2-3 in the last week. I try not to hit platinum members for two reasons.
1) a red hit does not leave a bomb on a platinum member
2) platinum members support the site which I respect.

I leave 10% red hits to non plats too, the goal for me is not to detract from the karma, that is an unfortunate side effect, the goal is to leave a bomb and a message.

Why does my plat alter bomb?
Because that was WHY IT WAS CREATED! I actually setup that account over the phone with admin, I said exactly why I wanted the account. The response was "<laughter> you guys are eating this bomb shit up!"

Well, the purpose of the recent changes was to put a halt to karma inflation. Red karma isn't inflationary, so why should it cost?

It should cost to keep the anti-social gratuitous hitting under control and to ensure that if you really want to insult someone by leaving a blot on their user-panel or take away their now-valued and, possibly, paid-for Karma then you pay for the privilege.

Does it really make sense that someone is going to fork over good cash to George for Karma just so that someone like Lestat can wipe it out in a few days at a whim and no cost to themselves? How can George be hoping to sell Karma to mainstream members without controlling the behaviour of these members who care not one whit for the society here but for their own ability to abuse and harass other members?

2) I hit for 10% red, again, with the goal being to leave the bomb, not take away massive amounts of K. Unlike you who hit me for -1707, yet I didn't feel compelled to make a bunch of whiny threads about it.

That's actually a very good point. If one is going to pay for it, then there has to be some measure of protection to the investment.

He keeps throwing the "you don't pay" line at non-Plats. He should wake up for a moment and realise that, when it comes down to it, he's the one who doesn't pay. George is likely not expecting so much as one cent more in membership fees from Lestat and as such he is very dispensible, especially while eating into likely revenue from the sale of Karma. You on, the other hand, are a potential and proven customer and valuable.
