A buddy of mine at the gym is 54 and has been around the gym for a long long time and has been doing gear on and off for appx 10 plus years, well his knowledge has not always been the best on it and he has tried a little of everything and finds something that works and sticks with it awhile and then moves on. He has even got his personal physcian giving him prescriptions of Cyp every appx 4 months. Well he wanted me to ask you the experts this questions. He feels like his receptors are damaged and wanted to know what he should do. I told him he should be at least doing time on equals time off. But he thinks and has been told there is something on the market that can fire his receptors back up. I told him I dont know and would ask you all. Thanks so Much for help with this. Georgia Irish

HCG might help clear him out a bit and open up his receptors a little. The best solution is always time off though(and make sure you do some clomid therapy so you hold your gains and your junk still works).

yep, the only thing that will refresh his androgen receptors is to lay off the juice for a while, longer than time off.

There is no physiological act as "cleaning out receptors". The androgen receptor has a very short half life and as such has a very high and rapid turnover rate. The receptors you had yesterday are long gone...The receptors you had several hours ago are gone and new ones have taken thier place. You are constantly degrading and regenerating new receptors throughout the day, so to "clean" them out is not possible. Resistance training causes an upregulatiuon of androgen receptor gene expresion which ultimately produces more AR's. Population is largely genetic, as are most things, but training does stimulate a response that increases AR population. But again, the receptors are on an hour to hour basis, not year to year, and certainly not in use for a lifetime. You can't clear them out.
