Reality check

So I'm only a few days away from my first competition prep! And reality is setting in. What if I do it wrong? What if I end up looking like shit? What if I can't afford a decent looking suit? And for christ's sake-- what if I don't win??? I worry too much, I know. But I guess I'm more competitive than I thought I was and I just don't wanna mess this up! I know I'll end up making mistakes. So I know that I'm being a total ass here. :) this whole thing is such a mind game sometimes. I've increased my muscularity over the last six months (which was the goal) and my diet is cleaned up so I leaned out a bit (another goal) but sometimes I look at myself in the mirror and I think I'm not big enough or striated enough or I think the pudge that's still on my stomach will never go away. Total mind f$&k, right?!? Eek!!!

is this your first comp? I have several tricks in finishing off that physique if you need help!

All your worries are normal, everyone that's new or veteran has the same worries....you will do great, just train very hard and eat well and everything will fall into place:-)....

Good luck

It's okay girl...we got your back! :) It can be a huge mind game and it will only get worse the closer you get. How long a prep are you doing?? Do you have a coach? My first advice would be to take the winning worry right off the table and just worry about bringing the very best package you can bring to the stage. I totally understand the competitive desires but try to focus on just competing with yourself. There's tons of experience here too and we can all help you with the little tips that make such a big difference! :)

You can do it Fc we are all in your corner best of luck to you chic

Thanks Cali! I expect to do a 16-20 wk prep. If I look "right" at 16, I will compete there. If not, there's another show 4 weeks later that I'll do instead. I do have someone in my corner to help-- she's a former ifbb pro BB. But most of it, I'm doing on my own. I run stuff by her for "approval" and she's gonna teach me how to pose. So at least I'm not completely on my own! :)

Thats a dam good stratagy champ! Hit RADAR up too. He really is an excellent resource. He has prepped out a lot of peeps, first timers and vets. Kill that shit gurl!

While winning is nice. The real victory is the shape you are in. It is one most will never achieve. Be proud of what you have already accomplished!

I like this quote for when I need extra resolve:

"A man does what he must - in spite of personal consequences, in spite of obstacles and dangers and pressures - and that is the basis of all human morality"

Winston Churchill
