Raw oatmeal with Protein shake

Just wanna see what everyones take is on this? Last night i was starving and needed something quick. So i make my usual shake with 2 scoops vanilla ice cream ON whey-fat free milk-scoop of anpb- bannana-ice and one pack of good ol regualr oatmeal. And i have to say it tasted great. So my questions is does anyone else add raw oatmeal to there shakes?
 
If I hit the snooze button a few too many times (quite often actually), I'll make a shake with whey, anpb, raw oatmeal, and water. Usually take 6-8 hard boiled eggs with me too. Fine meal for me.
 
The one thing i havent been able to stomach yet is whey with water... I just can't seem to slam it down without feeling un- easy.. Nice looks like i'm not the only one!

I can, I just need to slug it down. If I have dairy, it's best to stay out of my office.
 
Every morning my first meal is a half cup of raw oats, three scoops of protein and a dash of cinnamon and nutmeg and blend it. Love it.
 
i eat raw oats about 3x a day....mix it in with the shake....so easy it's stupid not to!

huge fan of the mixing of the raw oats
 
bloats me all to hell when the oats swell in my stomach, so no it's nothing I'd do

cook them for 3-5 mins beforehand in the microwave the night before and let them expand before blending them to a fine paste the next morning.. works a charm.

i wouldnt think it would alter the nutritional value. that sounds kind of cool im gonna try it i think.
 
i have been doing this for quiet some time esspecially when in a rush you cant beat it\
i recently tried using gound barley whiych is supposed to be a great low gi carb source
 
Absolutely... I blend up 1 c raw oats, 1 T flax oil, strawberries, blueberries, banana & 3 scoops of whey for breakfast almost everyday... its dayum good!
 
I do a 1/2 c. raw every morning with 2 scoops of whey, 5 egg whites and a shot of milk. I have a hard time eating a 1/2 c. when they are cooked but raw in mixed in the blender and that shake is going down in less than 10 sec.
 
I haven't tried that yet....but I have a hard time drinking the shake with out fat free milk.....I can do it but it has to be ICE cold...
 
someone on here posted this a while back and it has now become my breakfast that i look forward to every morning...this is my modified version....

2 cups skim milk
1 cup oats (blended to powder)
1-2 scoops vanilla protein powder
1 banana
dash of cinamon

blend together = better than some sex

hehe...all the woman I know that work out are the same way. My wife will only drink shakes with ice in them or FF milk.

She gets mad at me for eating my food raw or cold. I don't care it's just food.

I drink my shakes with only protein powder and water. The water doesn't have to be cold, and I just stir it with a fork. I'm not picky, though. Tastes good to me! :chomp: :lmao:

I'm the same way. I use blender bottles and I just shake it up and drink it. I perfer room temp water. My protein seems to dissolve better.

I am not using shakes too often, but routinely add raw oatmeal to my breakfast fruit bowl. I take 4-5 kinds of fruits (banana, papaya, pineapple, mango, all fresh) cut up with 20 grams of a mix of wheat germ, ground flax seed, raw peanuts, sunflower seeds, raisens, sesame seeds, and black walnuts (for good fats). Then 30 grams of non-fat dried milk. Maybe a slug of honey for extra glucose. That makes about a 550 calorie meal, which I take about an hour before my work out. Oatmeal has carbs, fat, and protein, all good stuff.

I also make bread with oatmeal, flax seeds, sesame and sunflower seeds. Whole wheat flour and gluten for extra protein. This bread is powerhouse stuff.

do you drink this or eatwith a spoon?
im guessin spoon as it seems a bit dry or is it a mistake

16 oz of mil is quite a bit. I dont think that would be dry.

every morning make my husband a shake with 2+ scoops of plain whey, banana, 50g flax oil, i packet of gelatin, 2 scoops of non-fat plain yogurt, and top it off with about 8-12 oz of skim,. then blend. it's alot of ingredients but it blends nicely.
 
My breakfast every morning is a 1/2 cup of oats, scoop of mucle milk, 1 cup of skim milk, and a banana.

12 fat, 70 carbs, 34 protein
 
every day 2 shakes one in the morning one at 4pm

oats
whey
water
oil
banana

makes 1000 cals one shake :chomp:
 
I love mixing my oats in my morning shake. I have 3 kids to get going in the AM so this is super fast and great for ya!!!!!!!!!!
