ive noticed ever since rap got huge, the word bently,20inch chrome(doves),iceberg, ice is in most ppls vocab. My question is if there wasno such thing as rap would ppl actually try to "floss" as much as they do now?(i mean ppl have always liked expensive shit but its gotten crazy)

holla back:fro: ...lol

Nothing wrong with buying expensive shit. My concern is with the increase in crime.

an expample is sport bikes,,they were always popular within a small group of bike loves,,but ever since the Ruff Ryders came out with that video about bikes, everyone in the ghetto has one,,and that in turn is making white kids from the burbs get them too...so rap has made sport bikes huge as of late,,thats one example

Remember when they all used to drink 40s and smoke a blunt and wear dickies and drive some Pinto with Daytons, and now they drink Kristal and wear Sean John and and drive SUVs, well try to at least cause most can afford that life style, these fucking guys are zombies, and when you laugh at them they say "they are expressing them selves"! bullshit you are following the lastest trend that you saw on an MTV video.

theres nothing i hate more than black people or even white people wearing more gold than Mr. T, platinum teeth, drive mercedes and bently's(sp?), baggy pants that start below their crotch, and blast jungle tunes (rap) out of their cars.

I personally like the whole trend.

It makes it easier to run up behind a kid and tear out his kidneys with a scimitar if he has loud music playing out of his car.

And you can steal their rims to pay for more heroin or implements of destruction.

I agree, but out here people don't have their priorities straight. They systems in their car that are worth more than the car itself. I got two fucked up speakers in my car that can only be noticed if the radio is blasting, which I don't have it, but my car runs great. Then there is the person who has the system, but can't listen to it b/c the car doesn't start.

There is no substantial statistical data that would support your theory that rap or hip-hop music has any affect on crime or society as a whole. Such a misinformed statement can be easily rebutted by new research which shows that crime in America is at record low levels. Music as well as other forms of entertainment have never been shown to drastically impact crime rates or influence negative deviant behavior.

However, I do feel that the entertainment industry must be weary of the type of material it sells and promotes to young children who are the most influential

MR? I work at the YMCA with young kids, all of the young black kids 5-7 talk about rappers non-stop, every other word out of their mouth is "fuck" or "nigga", they talk about "slangin" (selling drugs), these are 5 year olds, its pretty sad.

These kids are definately not on the rigth track, and I feel bad for them, I don't know who to blame, the parents?

Natymike you hit the nail on the head! It's the responsiblity of the parents! Period!

I'm not arguing before a jury, just making a statement which I believe is true. I'm sure half the popular rap artists "singing" about using drugs and committing illegal acts have had absolutely no influence on America's irresponsible youth, right?

Preemptive defense against RyanH:

If the inappropriate contents of rap have had no effect on America's youth, then neither has violence on television, in video games, or in anything else that your socialist party wishes to censor.

End defense
