Airborne- ????

Would you also get Air Assault or any other pay if you attend the school (probably not....maybe only HALO or HAHO?)

How hard would it be to get Air Assault and Airborne w/ my Ranger Contract? (they told me I'd have to go through jump school again...and I keep hearing rumors I'll have to go through Army infantry training too..WTF over?)

How fast are promotions to Sgt and SSgt in the regiment? Is Fort Lewis, WA a good duty station. (My girl says she likes the washington area) I just want to go where the best training opportunities are...(Ft Benning maybe?)

You have to be in the Army first. (I'm in the Marines.) You can't enlist directly and go straight to Delta. There is a selection process involved.

dont the Marines have the Recon force or something like that which would be similar to the Rangers ?

Buck what made you decide to leave the Marines? Also do you have any info on how to get into an MEU? I read that combat engineers make up a portion of a MEU.

Sorry Buck....Jump pay is all ya get. And forget about Wop Wop Wings....Unless things have changed, Ranger Batts don't even rec. them as something ya wear....you'll get all that training and then some....HALO, SCUBA, Pathfinder..etc are schools and you get to wear those badges.....BUT, once you put in for the schools, it may be awhile until you get a slot...and RANK has it's priviledges...

Unless your getting some great deal I dont know of a Ranger Contract that will gurantee you any Duty station. As far as you going through jump school again???that sounds jacked up. You shouldn't have to go through any infantry training again but hey why not look into getting another MOS? Hell what could it hurt for you to add some more skills, but in all likelyhood I can't understand why you would have to go through infantry training again. A Prior Marine I went through AIT with was trying to get back into Infantry but they were making him stick with COmmo for 2 years first and he didn't have to go back through infantry training.

Something I'm going to try and do is get some job prospects lined up at hospitals for my girl at by Ft Lewis and Hunter Army Airfield so when I'm going through RIP and close to finish I can tell them "Hey my fiance has a job at....Can I get stationed there since she will be working there???" They might be able to help you out for special circumstances which is what I'm going to try and do.

Memorial Medical Center in Savannah is state of the art...I had to pull 16 hours a month in the emergency room to keep my EMT/Medic MOS up to date....nice place to work...and the nurses were cool too...heh heh heh

The Army is funny with teh special pay.

Airborne = $150 per month

EOD = $150 per month

But at Ft Bragg, an Airborne post, teh EOD company is not on jump status, so they do not collect multiple hazards.

I may be wrong, but Grahm/Rudman put an end to alot of the extra pay for identifiers....I may be wrong....
