Raising HDL

how do you improve your good cholesterol? I know increasing cardio can help but are there any other means that you have seen work through your own bloodwork?

Krill oil (neptune)... hands down the most powerful HDL booster you can use.

Our Toco-8 will help bring HDL up and LDL down too.

Pp: How long would you say before you see any significant changes in cholesterol? What about for its hair-loss prevention benefits? How long? I've been taking two scoops daily for just about a month now

The maximum hair regrowth took place after 5 months of supplementation, but you should start to notice less hair fallout before then. Same case with the atherosclerotic/cardiovascular/cholesterol benefits. (BTW, you would only need 1 serving a day of the Toco-8 for the heart health benefits)

In addition to the Toco ^^ these are some supp's that will help protect you while you are hdl-impaired and will also help you more quickly normalize your lipid numbers once you come off.

Some have had success keeping HDL up and LDL down while on with these, it might be dose dependent on the offending compound. When I went above 50mg Anavar - oxandrolone - , nothing prevented my HDL from temporarily disappearing.

But some of the supp's below (especially the garlic, grape seed extract, and fish oil) provide a substitute HDL function while you are impaired - preventing/reducing new plaque formation and flushing ldl. The garlic studies are the oldest and haven't been negatively critiqued in any serious way thus far.

1) policosanol 20mg evening (+hdl, -ldl, blood thinner also)
2) garlic - cardiac formula dose of garlique or garlicin etc (acts as a substitute/super hdl, clearing ldl and reducing new plaque formation - also a blood thinner)
3) Niacin or inositol hexanicotinate (noflush niacin) - (one of the few substances to raise hdl - the niacin is preferred, but flushing and liver sides)
4) red yeast extract - a natural form of lovastatin, the same ingredient found in prescription stain drugs - (- ldl)
5) psyllium seed husk products/ hi fiber diet (-ldl )
6) diet high in unsaturated fats ("good fats" from vegetbles) mostly monostaurated fats which will raise hdl (olive oil, peanut oils, walnuts etc)
7) cardio, 30 minutes 3x weekly - even brisk walk - (increases hdl)
8) obviously a diet low in "bad fats" (saturated fats- meat and diary, and trans fats)
9) Fish Oil supplements or fish (better balanced than omega-3 pills) reduce risk of CV event and plaque formation .
10) Grape Seed Extract (-ldl, maybe +hdl, more important prevent oxidation of ldl and plaque formation) - similar protection as garlic during hdl-impaired periods such as during cycle and proximate post-cycle

the weird thing is that all my other numbers were perfect bu hdl was at 25, I wonder why that is when everything else is good to go.

Good post bro, just one thing... #6. "Good fats" are usually from fruits (olives, avocado) NOT vegetables. Stay away from vegetable oils.

I was prescribed "Niaspan" shit sucks...makes me flush!!!

I was at 23 and chose fish oil, will see how that works and let you know in 6 weeks ok!

best I recall, vegatable oils in their natural state are good fats (corn soy etc). BUT processed hydrogenated vegatable oils are hi in transfats which are horrible for you (but good for the baker/manufacturer due to texture qualities lol) - they raise ldl, lower hdl and I believe arfe pro-inflamatory as well

Ya buddy... that's why I stick to the olive oils, avacados, macadamia nuts, almonds, olives etc. for my monsaturated fats.
