My dog barks and growls at black people. Of course he growls and barks at people walking, riding a bike, lawnmowers and honked horns.
I've seen black people's dogs bark at white people.
Dogs just know they are strangers and that's why they bark. Color doesn't have anything to do with it.

My pitbulls are Racist. If a non White comes near them, they wanna tear that person up. If a White walks up, they jump on them and lick their face. Funny as hell. Where I live there are tons of blacks and mexicans, and my dogs go crazy. Gawd I love those dogs.

I call Bullshit.. in the case from the original news story posted. the dog targeted hispanic or black men with baggier clothes, and carrying something.. My guess is that he had been abused, or somehow hurt by someone in simular looks. I have been around dogs all my life, and the only thing as far as "racism", I have noticed, is that of dogs not liking bad people.. like they can sense the evil in them.. (IE, my father. Every dog I have ever seen near my father growls, barks, ect).

I have been around quite a few dogs that go nuts when black dudes are around. Probably are arfaid that the dude is gonna steal their collar or dog toys or something.

The dog you see in my avatar is about the friendliest dog in the world. Loves everyone, but even she gets a little uneasy when a black dude is around. If you look at my avatar, you can see her collar is iced out and blinging like there is no tomorrow. You would think she would be down wit the homies.

Two theories....
1. You can make a dog racist by training. I knew a woman that trained her dog to bark at blacks. She just rewarded it for being agressive towards them and punished it for being agressive towards whites.
2. Dog see humans as a different breed of dog. I suppose if they don't see different ethnic types around you often enough, they see them as belonging to a different "pack" of dogs. Hence, the agression. This part comes from a dog trainer that explains the "human-like" behavior of many dogs....they're mimicing the other "dogs" in their pack.

I had a parrot that hated women. He would fly into their hair and peck at their skulls the moment they walked into the room if he wasn't caged. He also impersonated the sound of a vacuum cleaner every time my wife was in the room, a stereotyping comment on the compulsive cleaning of some Latin women.

I myself get uneasy when black dudes who are fully gangstered out get around me, because they were born into what i one day hope to fully achieve, yet probably never will. Why cant i be black? Yup. My dog slangs a little cat nip and milk bones to the other pets of the neighbor hood on the side. Some call it destructive, irresponsible behavior, i call it resourceful. I am a little worried about it though. She started accepting paypal, and we know those guys can fuck ya.

This often has to do with socialization of the dog when it was a pup. That's why it's a good idea to take your pup out and introduce it to as many different people, kinds of people, kids, animals, machines, stairs, elevators, etc., as possible.
