R.I.P. Rose

At approximately 7:15 PM on Monday Sept 5th 2005, Rose, my pet tarantula of over 5 years, was found dead in her terranium. Time and cause of death is unkown since I was out of town all weekend. Services will not be held, she would have wanted it that way.

Rose, you were the best pet that a guy like me could ever have. You didn't make noise, you didn't smell, you didn't need walks, you didn't cry for attention, you didn't even complain when you were hungry. You just patiently and quietly existed. I will always remember those few times that I took you out of your terranium and had you crawl on my arms. I know you didn't like too much so I stopped doing it. I am atleast happy knowing you're in a much better terranium now, full of the juciest crickets for you to prey on, with better rocks and braches to crawl on and the bestest hiding places. You will be missed.

EWWW.
i mean, i'm so sorry. what did you do with her? bury her? flush her? what?
I wanted her to go with all the comforts of her terrestrial life so I packaged her up with the soil and all the cricket remnants that were left in her terranium and threw her in the trash. It was a very private ceremony.

You getting another?
not too sure.

At the time I got her, she was the first of many "exotic" pets. Several tarantulas, tons of scorpions and a few pet rats (they grew to be huge!). They all died after a few months, exept for Rose and the rats. The rats were super cool pets, except that their cage needed daily cleaning or else my place would stink like rat piss. I really didn't have time to clean them every day so I let them loose in a big empty field, full of trees, grass and wild life. Rose survived beyond expectation. I'm really out of the pet phase now, so I probably wont, atleast for some time. For my next pet(s) I'm thinking of buying a tank and throwing a few electric eels in it, but that probably wont be a for a good while.

Fish tanks are bad ass. I had a 75 gallon for quite some time.

I think you should take a break from having a pet to allow your broken heart to heal a bit.. Sorta like AAP's ass..

what kind was she, orb?
Just a cheap, $5 Chillean Rose. Outlived a much more expensive red knee and actually ate a Mexican blonde. You know, I always wanted to get a goliath bird eater, maybe I'll look into one of those.
