r-ALA

ulter said:
Yes. There is only one place to get it. The AF Store. I don't know how long that will last but for now we're the only ones.
The 50 50 mix, Racemic, is not going to measure up to the r-ALA. No way no how. If all you want is an anti oxidant then it's fine but it should not be used to control insulin levels like people are using it. The reason is that the s ALA has been show to INCREASE insulin levels by 15% at the same time the r-ALA will decrease insulin levels by 17% and decrease Fatty acids by 35%. So if you put them together you have one enantiomer the s, that will negate the benefits of the r-ALA. In other words the s should not be in with the r.
Ulter, what dose do you recommend of it to the advanced, thanks

We offer a mixed version (1:1 ratio).
Right. They never released their r-ALA because they couldn't make the kind of money they are used to.

If you were using 1000mg of racemic then 300mg of the r-ALA.
Should r-ALA be used as a daily supplement? What’s the best method for maximum absorption?
It works much faster than the racemic so it's ok to take it anytime for a supp. But you might as well get the benefit of the glucose uptake properties so take it 30 min before your meal.

so ulter, if i was using 1 gram of the other ALA, use 300mgs of this?

so since many take up to 6 grams of the other ALA, should i be taking in over 1500mgs of this one?

it is not clear what exact dosage ratio is needed to acheive the same or better results.. as it was not clear what dosage was needed to see the kind of results reported only recently with the racemic...

while the dosage used to treat diabetes is 600mg.. it is not clear at what dosage TRAINED, AS USING, NON-DIABETIC ATHELETES will get the glucose clearance effects (glucose shuttling and increased lipolysis due to rapid clearance) with r-ALA that are seen with the higher dosages of racemic..

it is VERY likely to be under a gram a day.. as compared to 3+ grams of racemic.. but until more users reports... the ratio remains (somewhat) unknown...

obviously for some 300mg at one time can induce fairly strong hypoglycemia..
