Quinoa

I've recently switched from oatmeal in the mornings to quinoa flakes.
Prepare them in the same way and it tastes pretty decent. The reason for doing this is i wanna try to get rid of gluten from my diet and i've read that quinoa is better than oats. Also it has a GI of 31 (this is for normal quinoa though)
anyone know the GI and Nutritional Info for Quinoa Flakes? Any difference?

Anyone else tried Quinoa here and what do u think of it?

I highly doubt quinoa flakes have the same G.I. as regular quinoa. Almost all refined products have a higher G.I. then the source they came from..

..unless they use crazy glue to hold them together, lol.

I know

though they're like 3 times the price of regular quaker oats they taste oh so good. I have been told they are better than rolled oats too healthwise

is semolina lower on the GI scale than steel cut oats? cool! My mother makes an indian semolina pudding on sundays and i sued to eat it as a kid but i dont anymore. Maybe i can cook it like oatmeal with splenda?

I also tried barley instead of oats at one point but they took too long to cook.

Oats so far seem to be working for me hehe

I'm not sure if semolina has a lower G.I., its G.I. is 40. Also depends if you cook 'al-dante' or 'well-done.' I just mix cold macaroni with salad (raw: tomatoes, onions, carrots, kale, green/red peppers, beans etc..) , chicken (skin less/boneless breast of course :D) and canola oil (cheap, cheap!!!) It requires no heating up and the G.I. will go even lower from the vegetables, oil, and chicken. About 3% cals from saturated fat (depends what ratio its prepared in), its one of my favorite meals...
