I don't know where this would go so i put it here. Move if necessary.

If you are going to a bulking cycle of any sort, would you try to lean before you started so after you have done the cycle you want have to so you can keep gains better. Personally i dont think it's a good idea. What do you guys think?

I guess my answer to your question would be that I wouldn't do a bulking cycle if my BF was too high/out of control. Otherwise, I'd do the cycle and worry about cutting later. That said, I am all about slow gains now and cutting, so all of my cycles from here on out are going to use some combo of tren, eq, winny, masteron, ox, and primo

Get as lean as possible before your bulk. You'll gain less fat after and have less sides.
 
I agree with the others that you should get leaner before a bulk cycle, but to avoid muscle loss when you diet I would take some anavar....when you do your buling cycle take some test

I try to stay lean year round... If I want extra size I just add in some complex carbs twice a day.. once in the morning and once after working out... works well for me.
I don't like to go above 10% bf...

I need to take a page out of your book and finally have....my goal is to live under 10% for a long time....I get pussy now at 13-14%, can't wait for 8% :p
 
I agree with the bros above I get worried if I go over 12%, I'm at 13% now. I say lean up and bulk heavy, problem with me is I bench, so leaning is out of the question because it equals strength loss.
 
It really depends on your starting point. What your BF is at currently and how your current diet is set up. There are variables to be taken into consideration before giving you a straight answer. If your BF is high right now and you can consume an excess of calories, then you could cut some calories and still grow depending on how low you go with calories. Again, it depends on your starting point.
 
im naturally lean, prob like 10% or less. but its not me. I was just talking about some stuff with a friend and hes like 12 -17% maybe but doenst really have good muscle definition so i think he thinks he looks worse than he really does

I am the friend he speaks of. There is a lot of places I could use improvement in my diet, but my gains are still minimal to non-existant. Based on your recommendations, I think I'm going to cut for the next 3 weeks or so, and then jump on the bulk train with my roommate, but this time with a clean diet and some help ;)...

One question for you though, should I stop the creatine/glutamine while cutting? And should I quaff some CLA that I have in my closet?
