quick drawing question

when i put the needle in the vial and hold upside down to draw i feel like when i pull back on the plungers for the first like .2cc or so it draws in nothing but air and then the syringe will slowly start to draw in the oil...so basically i have to push out all the air after i take it out leaving me with less oil then the 1cc i need, so i stick it back in and draw up some more....is there a good method of drawing the oil that i dont draw up and not get any air

First off the needle holds air and oil so when you pull it back there will be some air in there when you are drawing.

Secondly, if you want it to be exactly 1ml then draw 1.2ml's. and then pull the syringe so you get most of the oil out of the needle. Tap the syringe so the air bubble goes to the top of the oil and then push the air out of the syringe.

Dont take the needle out of the bottle until you have drawn the amount you want so you dont have to re-draw.

If you are not using a drawing needle (18-23G) you should probably get some so you dont dull up the needle you are going to poke yourself with.

also if your are going to draw let's say 2cc's, before you put the needle into the vial fill the syringe with 2cc of air and inject into the vial, the pressure of the air will help to draw the oil kicker and easer.

The best method is to draw air into the syringe prior to inserting it into the bottle. ie. if you are going to inject 1 cc or gear, draw tne plunger to 1 cc on the syringe and insert into the vial. Then depress the plunger which will help equalize the pressure in the bottle. Then simple draw slowly. You won't escape having air in the syringe, however if you overdraw, say 1.2 cc's, you can slowly depress the plunger while its still in the bottle which will certainly help eliminate the vast majority of air. Then, remove the needle, tap the side of the syringe to move what air bubbles remain to the top, slowly depress your plunger until a drop or two of gear runs out. (I usually rotate the syringe in a circular motion when a few drops of gear come out so that it spirals down the needle - adds a little more lube to it.) There you go, bro. Good luck.
