Questions on first run.

I have been training for a few years, and at the current moment I am training for my first competition.

I am in the 3rd week of a push/pull/legs/push/pull split. I lift heavy, and I have just recently added in 2 days of cardio a week to keep that heart health up.

My diet consists of 4,000 - 4,200cal/day.
Protein- 300g (+)
Fat- 200g
Carbs (non-sugar based)- 280-300g

My goal at the moment is to put on some mass, build up that lean muscle, and keep that bf % at the same level and perhaps even drop a percent or two.

I am running toward the end of my Forma/Transaderm run, at which point I will take some time off of anything other than my protein, creatine (soon to be switching from mono to nitrate), and BCAA's. I have put on a couple lean pounds and have seen my intensity in the gym through the roof. I have set PR's in all of my lifts in the past month and aim to continue to do so.

My question is, if I were to begin research on running a PH in a couple months, toward the end of my bulk, OR on the other side, to kick start my cut, what would be a good start?

It seems everyone says Beast is too strong with too many side possibilities to begin with for a first cycle.

Katana seems to be a crowd favorite for the cutting end of things.

Will you more experienced folk help guide me as you have so far in this matter?

I think a big reason SD is considered such an advanced steroid is so many try to run it @ 50+ mg a day. Epistane would suck big time if everyone tried to run it 90 + mg a day. I freaking loved SD at 30 a day with 0 sides.
It's also perfect for your goals. But you are correct, it would be much wiser to start with a much simpler ph/ds and continue learning good protocols for manipulating your hormones and being prepared for every possible bad scenario. Good pcts, shutdown, lethargy, back/calf pumps, libido issues, hair loss, nipple sensitivity/gyno development, testicular atrophy, high bp, irritibilaty, recognizing liver distress, lab values, diet and training adjustment, all things you should know alot about.
If you've got a real understanding of all of this, low dosed SD could be a great cycle, if not, others like epistane(my fav 'milder' steroid) could be a good way to get your feet wet. Just post up(after reading at least a dozen cycles of whatever you plan to run) with dosage, duration, all support supplements, and a well thought out pct with at the very minimum, a SERM(torem or clomid), and hopefully an arsenal of natty test boosters ( unleashed or anything with mucuna pruriens in it, and a month of DAA)

Good luck.

helladrol is definitely the best starting ph you can go to... it lines up with all your goals and will be exactly what you are looking for... you can get great gains on it with minimal sides... its a good way to introduce your body to new substances... this is what I highly recommend...

Thank you gents.

I have a follow 2 follow up questions.

I'm going to go to my doctor once I end my Trans/Forma, to get some bloodwork done to determine my base levels.

1.) Is 2-3 weeks enough time to clear out before being at "normal" levels with these two? Or do I need longer?

2.) What specific things should I be requesting be run on my blood panel to aid me in seeing things that may or may not be affected?

I'm trying to have all my data and research together before I even think about putting something in my body.

no reason for you to rush into competing at your age. just keep hammering away at it.. bodybuilding is very challenging so you don't need that extra stress on top of it. just enjoy for the next few years. when you get into your mid to late 30's worry about competing IMO

Full hormone panel + Lh, liver enzymes + bilirubin, tsh, kidney func.(creatinine, gfr, bun)
A comprehensive metabolic panel and hormone panel should cover it though.

Regardless of whether I actually compete or not, I'm training for it. It's a good push. My work ethic and diet has never been better. I feel tremendous.

I'm not doing this strictly for the comp, but the deadline gives me a little structure and accountability. Even if I don't end up entering, next April, I'll be in the best shape I've ever been in.

I do see whatcha mean tho:
-carb deprivation (once I cut)
-unbelievable training
-stress of physique and on physique

We shall see. But you haven't given me bad advice yet Steve, so I'll think that through further lol.

things will slowly go back to normal, too many factors will determine how long it takes. but a few weeks is a good starting point, you can always get another one in 3 more weeks after

run a full hormone and lipid panel but i doubt you will have problems from what you wrote .
