Puritanism is a way of life. It is intense work and saving of capital. the amount of wealth was directly related to how much God loved you.

Christianity was never in schools. What are you talking about?

Christianity was not in the public school system. Come to Quebec where all public schools were Catholic. A place where crosses and prayers were an everyday occurrence. That is Christianity in schools, not saying the pledge of allegiance.

You are thinking of the bible belt.

That did not exist in the northeast or the west.
