Question?

OK I am limited on money, so I say that up front. I have to use the Fitness room at my apartment. It has four different cardio machines. It has a Big nautilus machine, 6 or 7 stations on it. But no free weights..... is this bad? I do own my own curl bar, but is that enough. The machine has incline bench, leg press, leg curls (?), shoulder press (?), lat workout, row area on it, and a few others. Any words will be appreciated.

You can get some good results from machines as long as you still train properly and keep your nutrition good. Muscles react to resistance no matter what causes this resistance. Your only limitations will be that you aren't going to use your stabilizing muscles and once you max out the weight on the machine you can't progress very much strength wise.

There are gyms that will only run you about $15 a month in most areas. They will have basic free weights and cardio equipment. I have a membership to one where my parents live so if I go there for a while I don't miss out on gym time.

Hey Walli. Every so often you might try craigslist.com or some garage sales for dumbells. Maybe you have a mom friend who does the garage sale circut and can call your cell if she sees any (I used to do this for people who are looking for something) I'm very thrifty and get lots of great deals like that.

I do have a fancy gym membership now but will never give up my simple dumbells just incase gas really does go to $4 a gallon and I decide to workout at home, :)
