Question on my havoc cycle

Currently doing my first cycle of any pro-hormone, steroid whatever you want to call it. Running 20/30/30/40 then using Inhibit-E PCT, while taking liver/joint support each day.

I see most people here talk about how they are eating 3000 cals a day etc to get gains, but so far havoc is working for me and I am on a diet. I am just now starting the second week and have noticed a pretty big increase in vascularity, a pretty large improvement on most of my lifts, good pumps, and I am down a little bit of weight.

My diet is mainly low carb, but since I started my cycle I make sure to get a pretty good amount of good carbs via very high whole grain bread and brown rice, but most of my diet is protein from chicken/salmon. I weigh about 223 lbs, im sorta fat, I was a total fatass at 285 lbs in January, but to the point...

So my question is, are my gains a placebo effect? Do I have to eat tons of food while on a cycle? My gains seems too big to have been a placebo effect, and I have never had pumps this great before. Can't I expect to get some decent muscle increase which would help burn some fat?

Don't think it's a placebo effect, It's doing it's job. Don't diet while on it, increase muscle while on the cycle and worry about diet and cutting after PCT.

Steroids cause nutrition retention, so you can gain muscle and lose fat.

You are not getting placebo. It's legit.

The increase in strength, the vascularity and muscularity are not placebo effect.

Well if I eat whenever I am hungry, and everything I eat is good food, in addition to a few vitamins with amino acids and eating a 30g protein bar after each workout, isnt that enough food to gain the muscle but burn the fat too?

that's not very specific. If you want a diet critique you need to post up your diet meal by meal and what's in them.

It can change depending on if I am at a friends and have to find something new, but a typical day would be

Breakfast -
Omelet(5 eggs) with green, red and orange peppers, as well as cheese
4 sausage links OR about a fistful of ham OR fistful of turkey

Lunch - Typically one of the two meals

1) Stir fry - broccolli, carrots, onion, chicken on some brown rice
2) Natural peanut butter spread thin on two pieces of whole grain bread with an apple

Evening snack - Protein bar (20g protein, 17 carb, 10 net carb, 190 cal)

Evening - This is where things can change a lot unfortunately. This ranges from two large hamburgers with no bread and onions/peppers on them, to salmon and broccoli or chicken and carrots. The evening is always a meat with some form of vegetable though, possibly some brown rice

I can not really be specific on amounts, but they are not huge. I make enough for how hungry I am feeling, some days barely hungry other days very hungry.

Looks like your protein intake is way too low.

For someone who is trying to strip fat, you need to be taking in a LOT mor eprotein if you want to try and gain some muscle while losing fat.

Looks like you are keeping carbs low, so that's good for losing fat.

Are you supplementing with Omega-3 fats? I would be atleast 5 grams a day. Watch the saturated fats with the hamburger and especially sausage. Sausage is no bueno. Way too many bad fats in it.

Alright, thanks for all the help so far, really appreciate it. I think I will incorporate a protein shake in each day, and I am supplementing the omega fats as well. I do try to avoid the sausage but sometimes its all I have time for, but thats my fault.

How much protein do you recommend? I hear tons of different numbers for this and have never really been sure.

If you're a bit higher in BF 350 grams for 225lbs is plenty for a long while. I do nearly 400 grams every day at a somewhat lean 232 lbs today on the scale.
