Question for Spatts...

Spatts,

You sent me a link to your exercise videos a while ago, and I want to start incorporating the "good morning" into my workout.

There's a lot of different variations there on your web page, and I want to know if you can suggest one for me to start with.

Straigt leg or Bent leg? Arched back? Bent over?

Also, is it overkill to do them right after SLDL's?

Thanks!

Knees slightly bent, shoulder width, arched back, only go down until you lose your arch. This is a hip movement...so hips back, thrust the hips forward. Easy as pie. ;)

Thank you!

As always, it's never enough. Those doors are closed, and new ones have been opened. I start training for my next comp on Sunday. It's going to be the longest 15 weeks of my life...I would compete again this weekend if I could.

The words of a champion. You're such an inspiration!

What are your goals for the next comp? How much do you think you can beat your latest PR by?

The good-mornings went well last night! (That sounds weird)

First I put a little too much weight on the bar and as I bent forward, almost tipped myself over. Sometimes I think I'm more of a powerhouse than I really am! :)

After shaking my head at my own foolishness, what better way to get an injury?, I lowered the weight and then was able to do them sorta-properly.

I tried to keep my legs pretty straight without being locked but found I couldn't bend forward enough to get my back parallel to the ground. So I had to bend my knees a bit more to allow that range of motion.
