question about shadow's plan

I read this and decided to try it, as close as I can anyway.
I did the hiit this morning on an empty stomach and took my green tea supplement ( i have no fat burners yet).
I felt so energized afterwards ;) My question is about the meals. I bought some baby spinach leaves at the grocery today (on sale no less :qt: ) and I had to add a few things to it. Or are you supposed to put the berries on it? :worried: I thought that sounded gross, so I put a couple pieces of cauliflower and 5 grape tomatoes on it. Is that ok???
Also my dressings are not that low cal. I have a reg buttermilk ranch (low carb though) and a low carb itallian ( that i don't really like)
What do you guys suggest for a salad dressing??
Also is the tuna straight outta the can or can I add something to it?
1 more question... the small potato at meal 5...how small??? and what can I put on it?????
oops i lied... on my protein shake I don't drink milk since it's high in sugar and stuff..so i only buy 2% for the family. So I made it with water and 1/4 c. 1% cottage cheese.. i also added 2 frozen strawberries for flavor.
Is this ok or did I just ruin it?
Thank you thank you thank you!!!!! I hope this works for me. I need to be "told" what to eat sometimes ;)

IMO, The berries taste awesome with the salad. At 1st I was like Ehhh but I LOVE it now. I can't help you with the tuna as I cannot even look at the stuff without getting sick.

Anything & everything I eat is in my log if you need basic suggestions, sorry I can't help with cali or tomato questions.

I don't think the dressing is a HUGE issue if your diet is tight, but anything low carb or low fat usually implies high something...

I use Henri's Fat Free Italian - Amount Per 1 tablespoon, Cals 7.5, Fat 0, Sodium 165mg, Carbs 2g, Protein 0g....

For the Potato, I prefer Idaho taters, 100 cals per spud... I usually put cheese and pepper on it, Mrs Dash too

Man I don't know if I can eat a potato. I have been low carb brainwashed and a potato is so high on the glycemic index.
I actually don't have any potatoes right now. Not sure what i'll sub out with.
Thanks a lot bunny!! :qt:

I updated it, re-read

You're VERY welcome :D

I'm not following the Shadow plan, but I'm responding anyway ;)

The diet shadow made, can be altered alittle to meet your satisfaction. If you don't have a low cal dressing, get 1. Personally I rarely use dressing on my salads or if i do I use a little olive oil and balasmic vinegar.

And what exactly do you want to add to your tuna?

Just think if that low carb thing would have 'did it' for you, you wouldn't be here inquiring about the Project ;)

If I can help, lemme know

I can't stay on it. I like low carb and I have less headaches and much more energy on it. It is just so darn hard!
I was thinking of tuna salad. Maybe a hard boiled egg and some mayo or mir. whip and a little mustard. :p

You can do that, just easy on the mayo.

:lmao: @ Bunny you're so silly!

Try salsa on your tuna.

And instead of a "white" potato try a yam or sweet potato.

I HAVE SWITCHED OVER TO SwEET POTATOES AND I LOVE EM

LAY OFF THE WHITEBREAD THOUGH

Good lord, I haven't ate bread in i don't know how long. :)
But if I eat at texas roadhouse on the weekend.... I will be consuming yeast rolls with cinnamon butter..(it's just out of my control) :chomp:
Is my alteration on the shakes ok shadow?? Or should I go buy some skim milk?

do what you like best..I think both are acceptable as long as the is little fat in the shake.

I LOVE Texas Roadhouse - esp the bread......

do this....

eat a few peanuts before hand to cut hunger and then have a roll with the salad.....

Im all for a splurge occasionally...you still have to pay to dance

"A" roll. Mwahahahah! That is soooo funny. I can' t get out of there w/less than 2 rolls in my belly. Sometimes 3 :worried:
I always get the salads and the grilled bbq chicken. And I always leave feeling like I just ate a load of bricks. Never want supper that day ;)

For a tasty salad dressing, try: Some vinegar (apple cider, red wine or balsamic {balsamic does have sugar tho}), mustard, pepper, spices, 1 tblsp olive oil, 1 tsp. minced scallion & red onion. Whisk all together & serve on salad.

Use the above to mix in with your tuna. You can eat it plain -- but who'd want to?? :worried: Mix salsa in it, vinegar, FF mayo (1 tblsp), 1% cottage cheese or chopped veggies.

And I don't see why the veggies on your salad would hurt -- the more veggies the better IMO.....

As far as veggies in the salad -- mostly depends on your goals. Just to keep it in perspective -- generally the more color in your meal, the better it is as far as more of the stuff your body can use -- enzymes, etc. But if you are on a targetted restricted diet (e.g. for competition), the sweeter veggies like corn, tomatoes, etc are not good. They are higher GI foods -- mostly sugar.

Tomatoes are bad :worried: They are the highlight of my salad.
Well I only used about 5 grape tomatoes. I liked the baby spinach leaves. Never had em' b4. My boys( 5 & 7) wanted to try em' and THEY liked em'.
Jenscats; I am afraid to try to "make" my own dressing. I don't feel too confident on that. And I don't really enjoy the taste of vinegar.
But thanks so much anyhow. ;) I am def gonna try the cottage cheese with the tuna. That sounds palatable :p , with wheat crackers too of course.

I bought one of these salad dressign decanters that has the ingredients & the measured amounts up the side like those drink mixer glasses. I do love vinegar but it's easy to make thes dressings!

Do you have a measuring spoon that measures 1 tablespoon?? Then you can make your own salad dressing! And Apple Cider/Red Wine/Balsamic Vinegars dont' have that vinegary taste that plain White Vinegar has.

If you prefer bottled -- try Newman's Own -- they have some quite tasty salad dressings....

Definitely the bottled for now anyway. I'm doing good to get dinner made...much less homeade dressing.
Which Newman dressing should I try?

I'm currently using 3 diff. ones -- Light Balsamic Viniagrette, Low Fat Red Wine Vinegar & Oil & Low Fat Sesame Ginger (all can also be used as a marinade -- the Sesame Ginger is great for salmon!! :p )

As for the dressing -- whatever you are comfortable with -- but the ingredients are stuff you should already have on hand, thus would only take about 2 seconds to make.... But once you get more comfortable then go for trying something new... :p

I don't want to use anything that has sugar added to it.
I looked for the sesame ginger at Meijer's yesterday when i was shopping. I remember someone posting about it and so i checked out the newman ones and that one was not there. :( They had like 4 -5 kinds I believe and i don't remember seeing Low Fat on any...but I was in a hurry.
I love chinese food and thought maybe the sesame ginger would remind me of it. :)
I will see what walmart has, next time I go.

Speaking of Walmart -- do you like spicy food?? Walmart has a Jalapeno Mustard that is waaay yummy!! Cheap too....

Use ranch dressing

I have a good recipe for a dressing....

Red Wine Vinegar
spelnda
paprika
