question about protein shakes

i'm thinking about whipping up two gallon jugs of protein powder at a time so i can readily pour it when needed. will this affect the protein in any way, being dissolved in milk for, at most, one week?

thanks, peace

Only if the milk goes rancid or the protein settles to the bottom.

So keep it in the fridge (or freeze it, that would work perfectly) and shake it up before pouring.

It wont affect the protein as long as you dont let it sit too long. Use a strong gallon jug(like the clear ones you can get water in) and not a piece of shit cause your gonna have to shake it everytime you want some protein because it will settle. Its a lot easier to mix up shakes like that, a lot of people also cook their chicken all at once but then it gets leathery.

why not just buy a protein powder that dissolves easily? when i make a shake its normally just one scoop and i stir it with a spoon.. dissolves in less than 15 seconds...

i had to change it from my last one which took about 2 mins in a blender and had the consistency of cement mortar.

First try leaving one pre-made shake in the fridge to see what happens to it. I know after leaving one of my shakes in the fridge it separated and turned into sewage after only a few hours.

I'd like to hear Cornholio's and Spatts's opinions on this subject...

well I've been making my morning/afternoon shakes the nights before, since I take em at work. the morning dose gets left in an open glass and becomes foamy, but tasty once it's lightly stirred. the other I put in a thermos, and once you shake it a bit before drinking, it's so fucking smooth. just curious if any would fuck up after a week

I'm not even remotely close to either, but I'm willing to bet thatone or both would say something like:

Just eat. You'll get more than enough protein out of the food you eat in a day, if you do it well.

That's what I've been doing. I abandonded the protein shakes months ago.

I eat plenty of non-powder protein, but I can't spend a lot of time during school preparing a buncha chicken breasts daily, plus I can slurp down a shake between classes very easily.

I wouldn't leave my protein shake standing in the fridge for about a week. I would rather prefer to prepare my shakes for the day, and be sure of how many grams I'm getting per day than getting to lack my protein requirement for other days.

i've been out of protein mix for a couple months...and i have not been getting enough by just eating. at most i've been getting 150 grams a day...but then again i have a limited food supply

I still like the triple threat shakes. I have never liked shakes before...but I can tell a difference when I add them to my normal diet. I drink one on my way to my first class and another before bed...sometimes directly after a workout too..

Don't let it sit for a week, try the quart botles and mix for a day, the bottle is easy to clean and the milk and protein won't expire too easily. I usually mix it in with my coffee for morning class, dissolve nice and easy in hot coffee and if you use vanilla give the coffee some added flavor.

i just bought "Weider UltraWhey Pro" anyone know if its any good? taste and effect? it shows 20 grams of protein in a serving..

Stick around this board for awhile and you'll get a wealth of information. First bit of advice- dump weider products and get bulk whey from a company such as optimum nutrition. With weider, you're just supporting his advertising budget.
