Question about power cleans

I am just getting used to these and getting the swing of them. Now I have excellent power right off the floor, but during the top 25% of the lift, I still feel like I semi-reverse curling the weight. Not a tonne, but enough for me to notice it. Any suggestions to avoid this?

From what I've read, if you *think* your curling/pulling with your elbows, you are. Practice from the hang position, dropping under the bar, and catching in the rack. From the floor, pull to a "high" hang position, right around your shoulders, don't use your arms, pull hard from the floor and shrug/extend your hips at the top let the momentum carry it upwards. If you are just learning, you should consider trying the full clean (with the squat) rather than the power clean.

if you dip under the bar a little you won't feel like you are reverse curling

It might be worthwhile to practice a few high pulls as well. That momentum off the floor has to be continued all the way up to the sternum. When you're going fast there's no time to curl.

controlled off the floor, don't explode until you clear the knee
drive feet into the floor, arms loose like hooks, shrug hard

think of it as "jumping" with the bar, insteading of pulling the bar up
