Question about computer video cards....

What would be the better one??

A Geforce4 MX 4000

or a Geforce3 Ti 200

Sounds obvious but I have the Geforce4 in my main computer(I just bought it to upgrade a little bit, I dont really play many games on the pc) and a Geforce3 Ti on an older computer(much slower).

I could swear that the older card (Geforce3) played games and videos so much smoother.

which would be the better card???

Also..if I decide to swap cards...how do I go about managing the drivers??

I mean do I uninstall the GeForce4 driver first?

yeah uninstall the drivers and reinstall the ones with your card when you physically install it.

how much yuo looking to spend?

i dont know about which card to get but you shouldnt have to uninstall the drivers of your old video card, just plug in the new one and u should be set

he probably wont need to uninstall it, but I do it everytime I swap one out. No real good reasoning behind it haha

the drivers you are using will probably support both cards, so i dont think you need to uninstall or reinstall any drivers.

That's weird, I upgraded to a better card and it doesn't seem to be much difference, I had a Geforce 3 ti 500 and upgraded to a Geforce 6600 GT.

I really only get about a 15 fps difference in the same games. I think I need lots more RAM.

what kind of cpu is in your computer? how much ram do you have?

ah yeah, better off building a new rig.

true that rdram costs so much its not even worth upgrading the memory in those systems. cheaper buying a new motherboard and memory instead!

The GeForce4 MX was really just a cut-down GeForce 2 with some extra gubbins bolted on. The GeForce 3 Ti is a much better card, even the crappy Ti200 version.
