I was told today by my orhopitic that I have inpingment of the bicep tendon. It is making it basically impossible to train. The ortho said that 4 week of PT will fix it. He seemed to think that I had nothing to worry about, even thougt this was the second time I saw him for this problem. He said that the inpingment is irratating my bicep tendon and also inrritating my rotator cuff slightly. What do you guys think, will I ever heal. This has been bothering me for 2 months now, but the ortho said he is very confident that PT will stop the inpingment. Please anyone who has had this problem or can help please respond.

Thanks

I had the same thing with my shoulder....I am a physical therapist and did shoulder stability and RTC exercises after resting the bicep tendon and shoulder for 3 months
(Lots of ICE, CFM, US) no weights... with light stretching only. Unfortunately, it came back again despite gradually increasing resistance with weights. Very frustrating! I ended up having arthroscopic surgery to remove bone underneath the AC joint and they did a thermal Anterior Capsule tightening to add stability to the joint. I also had a type III AC joint which is often associated with impingement of the biceps tendon. I am now 3 weeks post-op and things are feeling better already. However, rehab is 4 months for Thermal capsular shrinkages...no weights for another 3 months...going nuts but will be worth it eventually. Hang in there...and give it another month of rest. If it still bothers you...see a good shoulder surgeon. Good Luck.

I should change my middle name to injury after all I've had. Only had 1 surgury ever and all the others healed up with rest. Take the time off and give your body a chance to heal itself. Trying to work through the injury will only make it worse.

brickhouse,

You must have injured your bicep tendon pretty bad, if you needed surgery. My doctor seem to think it was difinityly going to heal. When you hurt yours, did you feel some kind of major pull or something. Because it did not it just came up all of a sudden. Let me know Brickhouse, I would like know how your injury occured.

Let me know brickhouse

Thanks

I think I have a shoulder inpingement also, but it hurts less the heavier I go. The warm-up weight and my first few lighter sets of my pyramid hurt my shoulder more than when I go to heavy and lower reps say 5-6. It hurts when I sleep on it wrong though but not when I train heavy. Is this normal?
