Lol, you can't blame them though, actually it is a good sign. Metaphors are understood by the people's environment and the experience of the people. Everyone is hyper-vigilant! By everyone interpreting his metaphor of prison literally what we can see is that everyone's true intention is to keep our little community safe; not to bully. We should all hug right now.

LOL

lol last week i got pulled over for illegal tint on my driver/passenger windows, as soon as they run my name i get fully detained, questioned, and they try and search my vehicle..

happens every time... gay

Vigilante would be the correct term to use in this case. Lets all ask Trayvon Martin how that worked out for him. Oh wait we can't he's dead cause one citizan thought they were being vigilant.

When you've committed a felony you've got to expect a little bit of wariness (depending on what you've done or you won't say what you've done lol) from certain people at first when you talk about it. Its definitely a good start when you're honest about it and let everyone be free to come to their own conclusions about you and accepting the outcome when some people don't. I'm sure it sucks and it hurts sometimes when people don't give you a chance because of your past but that's part of it I suppose. I don't know.

Community response is not the same as a being a vigilante in my opinion. It is encouraging (to me) when a community bonds together and says NO we will not tolerate certain behavior as acceptable and will shun you when no remorse or rehabilitation is shown. Usually it never happens like that but I think its something we ought to do, of course now I'm not talking about web forums anymore... its a conundrum. No one likes a bully; I don't. Bully behavior also needs a "community response" too so I understand where you're coming from.

Sorry for getting serious when I intended to be silly and nonsensical. Lol.

I’d agree it’s good to be honest about what you have done, it is a sign of character being honest about your actions and taking responsibility for them.

However in a virtual community such as elite it’s no one’s business what you have done unless you divulge said information for yourself. It seems like people feel a certain sense of entitlement to other people’s information here.

If someone is harming the community at large breaking the TOS or the 5 golden rules of C&C in my sig, it’s the mods reasonability to take action not the communities. Just like in the real world it is law enforcement and the justice systems job to take care of problems in the community.

I have to disagree. "Community response" is a thinly veiled disguise for vigilantism, SPECIALLY if you are carrying guns. Take Arizona for example. It is not the job of a bunch of rednecks to protect the borders of this country by shooting with intent to kill. If they want to be useful, they should pick up the phone and call border patrol or the police. By the same token, this guy Zimmermann was TOLD by the police to not pursue Tavon Martin, but he ignored that and provoked a confrontation and was probably getting his as kicked so he shot the poor kid. Surveillance is fine if you are not carrying weapons and report suspicious activities to the authorities. This has become an entirely different thread now. I knew I should have PM'd QT instead of posting this! :)

wow this thread just took it to a new gay extreme.. wtf is wrong with u fgts stfu, cindy look what u started always bein a snooty bish

I completely agree with you QT about entitlement to info and I do think people should be able to control their own information and have a right to privacy. I was talking about FF in particular that used a prison metaphor and then got a response he didn't like... lol all he had to do was tell the truth. Lol. However, I do see what you're saying about the other thing and it makes me think about myself, and on some level I suppose I was wrong, I'm not sure...all I know is that my conscience is clear but that does not make me innocent.

I'm not talking about violent response, I'm talking about shunning. Punishment does not always = rehabilitation. Shunning is a natural response I don't think it is wise to ignore in certain situations or we are all going to end up a bunch of sociopaths in a couple hundred years. Lol.

In any case, sorry I changed the thread topic and hello, I'm Cindy; pleasure to meet you. :)

And you Cindy. Being a felon I don't mind being shunned but I'd hate it if somebody were to take a shot at me for what they perceive to be "suspicious" activity.

I'm sorry. I thought it was all a joke, honestly. FWIW, I've dated felons and am friends with felons; I swear I'm not always a snooty bish that won't give people a chance. Lol.

Get yo shit together woman! LOL :lmao:

Lol, I can't! I'm too set in my snooty bish ways to ever change. Maybe you all should start shunning me, as its clear that I'm terribly toxic... spreading my hate and judgment around to everyone I come into contact. Its obvious my goal is to leave this place a little colder than what it was when I came.

Hahaha okay, this can go back to being about QT now. :rose:

Lol ER has only liked me since he saw my FB pics bc he thought I'd look like a bigger bitch I'm guessing. I'm not sure why he thought that. Except he says it in a nicer way than that...but I get the gist.
