sure the city itself is rough...but the surrounding areas are some of the richest in the nation...grosse pointe, st clair shores, rochester.
money in the region

Why go to a depressed has been city? To really drink in the poverty? See closed factories? Really drink in the highest murder rate in the country? Who cares about the surrounding suburbs? There's money around every city. The main line by Philly has some of the richest people in the country, old money, true blue blood. There isn't shit to do there though. Difference is, Philly is a great city.

Don't hate.

I've been to detroit, and it's actually not my opionion of the place, it's the people that I know that live there that talk about how dirty and dangerous it is. Take it up with your neighbors, assplant.

Just because you're Tigers are getting their asses handed to them is no reason to go on an anti-STL rant up in here...

Salt Lake is not like any other city. I have never seen anything this clean, it's odd. It's an extermely homogenous culture though. The mo-mo's pretty much do everything they can to keep in churchy, so there are definitely drawbacks.

I grew up and lived in Philly for 20 years, and can tell you that that place was a filthy shithole until Ed Rendell took over as mayor and turned it around. Everyone called it Filthadelphia, and rightfully so. You could be walking through the nicer parts and see a bum pissing near the window of a restaurant, there was a ton of crime, when the Naval yard closed, a ton of people were out of work and the city was fuggin depressed. It happens. I think I was 10 when Wilson Goode fuggin bombed the Move peeps in their row homes, killing women and children. You got a mayor that's going to bomb some muthafuckas, you got a fucked up city.
 
AND....i will have you know, for a dirty, smelly city no one likes, we have more sports championships than all of the midwest combined. we have heart, at the least. try reeling in million dollar ham and eggers to this place. they'd rather be on the coast. so, we takes what we can. wtf, `least it's not Philly, where they throw batteries at players, snowballs at Santa and make fun of players dead children.

gonna be hard for a mayor to fix detroit woes
some would consider it unfixable
the financial segregation in d-town is shocking
literally one side of the street is monied white folks (grosse pointe)
while the detroit side is predominatly poor and minority
amazing how it is

Dood. Philly has the absolute worst fans. Imagine a whole city of it. They have shirts with the Eagle's head on it that says "Fuck Dallas". Yeah, they make them in kids' sizes. Most fans cheer a player's ability go get off the field ok, Philly cheered because Irvin was injured so badly.

87% black. it's hard to get someone with enough sense not to isolate the whites. thas' what happens. they seem like they're trying to exist in a bubble.
that is why you see so many Arabic property owners, they're not afraid to be shot at. so, they buy homes and businesses everywhere down here. and just about every week, i see another one get murdered. circles....
