purple potatoes???

anyone? My wife brought them home the other day. I only had a bite of hers cause it was late at night. Just plain, baked. Wow they are awsome...and very creamy...

Anyone know anything about these? Other than that they are crazy expensive!

Are they potatoes...like shaped like regular potatoes, but probably smaller...or are they shaped like sweet potatoes? I have had both...both are good, but the purple sweet potatoes are a better deal nutritionally. Either way, you should be getting a good amount of antioxidants from the anthocyanins in them.

The smaller ones(regular). 1 lb of purple costs the same as 5 lb of regular.

Ahh yeah...they are good. As far as I know, they are nutritionally similar to regular potatoes, but full of antioxidants. Still pretty starchy though.
