Pullovers do you do 'em? Why or why not? When?

I just started doing these with DBs. I like them a lot. DO you do 'em? Where do they make you sore? how do you incorporate them into your training split?

The only thing I know so far is that I will be doing them on the same day as shrugs. They seem to go well with DB military press too.

Do you do them lying down on a flat bench?
I do them sitting up on a machine... they work the lats unless I am mistaken, dunno why you would do them on shrugs day unless that s also your back day.
I havent done them that much but I like em so far.

Yeah I started doin them on a machine when i went on vaca and then I came back to my gym and all we have is DBs.

th ereason I'll do em on the same day as Shrugs is that in both exercises I want to use more than 60# and I will make my own DBs with oly handles.

I use pullovers (db or on the lat pulldown) on back days. Primarily as a warmup. 3 sets of 15 get the lats pumped!

Yeah I noticed that the clavicular head of my pecs only is sore after doing these. It's not fun to do bench the day after pullovers; I'm more prone to schedule these AFTER a chest day.

i do the pullovers on my back day, i use a barbell and have a shoulder width grip. theyve helped my back greatly, i was sore the first few times. dumbells are better for chest i do believe.

It's great for the lats
OK for the chest
Bad for the shoulders

Good for stretching; doesn't build much muscle.

Either you use moderate/light weight and it is useless (or just for stretching)

or you use heavy weight and your rot. cuff won't appreciate

DialTone nice title.

Bad for your shoulders eh?

Arnold is a huge fan.

DO you think that using a machine is OK, but the free weight is what fucks up your shoulders?

I think i will go ahead and try them, and just be very mindful of my shoulders.

lumberg,

yes i use a barbell. i put my hands about where i would for CG bench. they work great for lats. id use a dumbell for chest though.

Pullovers or you can do undergrip pulldowns. Works the same.
I'm gonna have to disagree on that one. My upper pecs and long head of the tri were sore after doing pullovers. never experienced that with pulldowns.

The only time I have ever experienced shoulder discomfort from pullovers was when using the BB...was probably not doing them correctly though because I didn't feel it too much in the lats.I use DBs, Nautilus, or the Lat pulldown machine and pick one per session

When I used to go to Bally's, they had a pullover machine, like the one arnold used back in his days. That shit works. Sucks most gyms dont have this, it really works.
