Few days a ago I pulled the quad. thought it would be a little better a few days later, but knee and quad still swollen. this is the 2nd time i have had to drop out of this comp , damnit!!
only one good thing can happen,.. i start bulking and cycle earlier :)
i am taking a good week off from the gym. then getting back to it... last time i checked my weight i was about 216-218 (diff times of day) and i am in the single digits, prob round 9ish... so i was gonna be a little high for comp anyways..
ill keep ya updated...

That sucks bro, I did something to my quad when I was in high school. I just started being able to dunk so I did it all the time, mind you it was during baseball season (I played in college, I knew I couldn't afford to lay off it). It never healed right and now I have a dent in my quad. It's definitely noticeable on stage!

Dude I have been there I tore a hamstring the worst pain I have felt period. This was about 3 years ago pretty much ruined my football career I never got back to where I was I cant run as fast, I cant jump as high, and I cannot squat like I use. So take it easy give it time to rest my tare started with a pulled hamstring I rested for 2 weeks after I pulled and went out sprinting again and ban I tore the hamstring I was out for 7 months my legs went from being 29 inches to 25 I look like stick legs I couldnt even squat 135lbs thats going from 560lbs squatter before I hurted. So take easy bro!

thanks guys... does suck and will take time off... going to hospital tomorrow most likely to make sure its not as bad as i hope it is. its a 5 minute walk away. now... the real question is... what should be the first real food i should eat again??? borg? lol

Good gravy! That is massive, a 29 inch wheel is ridiculous! Mine are only 26 and I can't even find pants to fit me. I am 6'1 though.

sorry to hear. hang in there and good luck. let that injury heal.

thanks guys.. sorrry computer has low signal for wireless... moving right now so its hard to navigate, and will give out K later :)

I have found to make monster muscle mass gains you come very close to injury. When i mean monster gains I mean more than 10lbs contest weight a year.

That is definitely a monster gain! I don't come close to that.

bluehen, i was 4 weeks out...
ya, i was 190 around 6% last year and this year i am about 216-218 around 9%ish..maybe lower, so a good 20lbs is fine for me, since i did my first cycle this past spring. lookin forward for my next cycle :)

Sweed sorry to hear that man. Good luck with your recovery man and you can start your bluker a little earlier. I hope things go better for you in your bulking than your competition.

That's a tough break man. I'm chomping at the bit to get back on stage and I did three shows this year so I can't imagine how you must be feeling.

Sweed bro, sorry to hear about your injury, but just curious...how did it happen???? If your knee area is swollen you could have some internal injury rather than a quad tear, usually a quad tear will not cause the knee joint to swell. Can you describe the mechanism of injury, you can PM me if you want Im a PT and there are a number of things that can go wrong at the knee that you might want to get checked...just trying to help....

Sorry to hear about that, Sweed. I followed your first cycle log like it was a soap opera. lol Rest up and let it heal right the first time, bro. Peace.

Sweed I will feel bad for you tell you start posting about all the bulking food your eating then I will just plain hate you ;) Have a hot fudge ice cream sunday for me please.

unfortunate....

injuries bring to the forefront the importance of proper warm up and stretching. (though that may not be the issue here, it is the most common cause).

and as musculature progresses and with age the need for longer warm-up and stretching is usually indicated.

as a note- hydration and electrolyte balance are also significant factors in injury

had a partial pec tear this year too

shit sucks but it tought me the value of a proper warm up and also correct form

injuries make you smarter and stronger in the long run

thanks guys....i actually celebrated a little tonight. ate a cheap meal and went out to my club for a little. im going to get it checked out tomorrow, im 22, so i hope it heals quickly because im dieing ( only been a day) to get back in the gym.

don't rush it Sweed

If the injury was bad enough for you to drop out of the comp then you will definitely need more than a week away from the gym.

im gonnna go by hospital/ dr orders tomorrow. it seemed easier in high school a few years ago, get a pulled hamstring, then 3 days later running a 11.2 100 ? but def taking at least a week off from the gym to recover from the past 2 weeks of going to the gym 14-17 times.. this willl be nice to maintain what i have. then in 2-4 weeks( whenever i am better) to start eating more and bulking more clean and maybe, maybe if everything is right, to start my 2nd cycle earlier, but we will see before then if im ready, i have everything i need. well see tho

So what's the story? Pull? Tear? Any hot nurses?

Hope it works out for you - and a week or two off is often a good thing, let's the body recharge.

Good luck,

Bluesman

its def a lot better today, i am psyched, but still taking at least a week off to recover.
and no hot nurses.... i see some on my way to the gym and/ or work tho
