Protein Absorbtion With Fiber :)

TheMyth

Since adding 15 grams of fiber to your meal helps keep you from reaching a catabolic state as soon, does that mean that more of the protein you ingest gets absorbed and less turns into glucose?

From my understanding,,, fiber can actually hinder absorbtion =/

From my understanding, fibre (along with fat) SLOWS absorption....

.... which means if you're trying to take advantage of an insulin spike and get as much protein (or whatever else) absorbed as possible as quickly as possible (ie. post-workout) fibre probably isn't the best.

But other times when you're not having an insulin spike, I think it would be helpful to keep things ticking along at a steady rate and even minimise the risk of fat gain caused by overspill.

I think.... but, of course, I don't know shit. :D

I know post workout you don't want fiber, but I'm talking about like during the day if your just having say 40 grams of protein with 2 TBS peanut butter. Since it isn't right after I work out, my muscles arn't in need of all that protein, so to minimize waste, would the fiber help?
