Proper Disposal

Hey bro's haven't seen any threads on this, or at least don't remember.
I was reading in the paper about garbage men being stabbed with needles etc.
Can someone post the proper way to dispose of needles/syringes. I think this could help a lot of people as well as myself. I was reading in the paper about garbage men being stabbed with needles etc.

i always put mine in a plastic container like a pop bottle and make sure the lid is sealed

Yep..keep an empty water bottle around. Throw the needles in there with the cap! and then throw the water bottle away...keeps it real simple.

1. Never discard an unsheathed pin. When finished with a pin, put the cap back on the pin and snap it on securely. This will prevent the pin from ever poking anyone.
2. Put all your pins into a strong plastic jug. You can get a sharps disposal kit from your local pharmacy or hospital, or you can use an empty protein/creatine/glutamine jug with a screw on lid.
3. When disposing of the jug, tape it up so it can't accidentally open and label it clearly as biohazard/sharps/do not open
4. For the paranoid: if you want to be sure nobody can go thru your trash and figure you out, put ALL your rx waste (including pin wrappers, syringes, empty vials) into the container, and dispose of it far from your home when full.

i scatter them in the sand at my local beach.

just kidding..i put them in a metal coffee can and drop them in the city garbage cans on the street corners. alot of drug addicts in NYC so i'm sure the city workers take necessary precautions. (as I would think any garbage man would).

Always cap the needle, wrap in tin foil, place in empty container - peanut butter jar, plastic liter bottle, whatever...

I wonder what the wife would say if I had one of those bright red biowaste containers in the bathroom...

Been stabbed before by one which was a few weeks old and had been injecting a few mates. I become paranoid I had stabbed myself with someones pin which was infected. I thought I may have caught HIV from it even though I reasd you can only get it from warm blood and HIV is fragile in the air even after a few hours.
Had a HIV test after getting the flu a few months later. Obvoiusly I was worring the fuck out myself for nothing. I knew my mate almost certainly didnt have HIV and the chances of getting it from the needle just pricking me for half a second if he did have it was so remote anyhow.
Saying that garbage men who have been pricked many times could catch hepititis or something maybe?
Any thoughts or similar incidents?

You should get yourself checked for hepatitis. That's a much stronger virus and can live outside the body for a long period of time. You're right about HIV. It's very difficult to get (even from sharing a needle).

get a sharps container and find safe house area to drop off.

I like to take them with me to the store and slip them into a pair of new pants cap off and put the pants back on the shelf.....(just kidding relax) Old protein jug and glue the top on

if you get caught throwing them out, some states will fine you 3000$ for it. My doctor buddy told me that I could take a biohazard sharpy container and just bring them to him for proper disposal, but I got paranoid about driving with them..so I just throw them out with the tops on. But, I will from now on, put them in a container.. good post guys..
