Proform 780 CS treadmill, how good?

LoneTree

I am going to buy Proform 780 CS treadmill with 4 years extended warranty today.
Does anyone has an opinion about this treadmill?

Not as good as the roads in the neighborhood you live in.

Proform stuff is pretty good though.

PM puddlemonkey he is in the business of ex. equip. and will give you an honest answer whether you want to hear the truth or not!

I am a runner.

Treadmills screw up your stride. You end up hopping instead of striding. Run outside on the road.

If you live in the great white north like me that may not be possible sometimes of the year.

That said, Proform does make decent stuff.

Cheap treadmills take around 15% of the stress off your knees compared to running on a paved road.

The treadmill he's looking at is a mid range, so you can probably estimate it more at 20%. That's a lot less stress than the road. Plus, maybe he doesn't want to run outside. Especially during winter.

Now you're a runner, i thought you were a powerlifter? lol. Seems kind of contradictory no?

Yea it sure does....

The thing is, that I like to run - always have.

I try to limit it to 12-15 miles/week at >=10 min mile though.

In my family there is a lot of deaths from cardio health related problems, so I always want to maintain some level of cardio fitness.

Plus fat doesn't contribute a lot to lifting power
