**problems with george forman grill??

I bought one last week and like the way it cooks chicken and steak fast. But when ever i put marinade on the chicken the marinade starts burning before the chicken is cooked and then it tastes burn and of charcoal. Also when i cook sweet potatoes on the grill the outside goes really hard and dry??Is there any way to stop this.

What I do is slap the fillets on for 8 mins on say two-thirds heat and then the marinade goes on. I never use full heat but cook for a bit longer than stated in the manual.

oic - you'll just have to get the timing right through trial & error then. I'd put the marinade on after the fillets have been in for quite a while and it should be o.k

I have the red light only model as well...you just have to suffer through a few pieces of "black and pink" chicken before you get the timing down, there is only like a three second window from perfectly done to burned beyond recognition.....good luck bro, the art of the Foreman is one well worth pursuing!

You could try to cook it like its a normal grill, flip it from side to side. That way it prevents burning cuz its cycling. Works for me when I need to do that.
