Problems doing batches with Microsoft Digital Image 9....

Well Photoshop is easy to use but I never figured out a way to process batches of photos for auto levels or auto contrast or........

Doing them one at a time is very time consuming when working with hundreds of photos.

I bought MIcrosoft Digital IMage 9 because of the batch feature. Problem is that it quits responding if fed more than about 40 photo files ( files are 2.5-4mb each) at a time. That is too weak for me.

Spent the afternoon trying to do batches with the MIcrosoft software and got about 40 done. Could have done all 200 on Photoshop during that time.

I am wondering if upgrading memory from 512mb to 1gb would fix this lil problem.

Running a Pentium 1.7 with 15 gb of space available on hard drive.

Photoshop scripts should let you do all of that. There is a series of buttons under the actions menu off to the right.

Just look in the manual and they will tell you all about it. Or in the help section, or online.

The auto contrast and the likes should be the most easily done I would imagine.

As for the other stuff, not sure - never used it.

The actions menu is pretty weak. Nothing about auto levels or auto contrast.

Thanks for the effort however.

First, create and save an action that does an autolevel (or whatever you want) on an image, to include saving the image.

Then, go

FILE - AUTOMATE - BATCH (In Photoshop)

and make it look kinda like this:

Works for me....

This is what happens when a very stupid 18 year old doesn't see my car and t-bones it, causing it to rollover a few times... with my entire family in the car. I was the driver and am very lucky to be alive as my head got pouding pretty fucking hard when we were rolling about. As it is, I've got a pretty messed up neck and shoulder from the experience. Kids were okay as they were in car seats. Wife's ankle got banged up a bit, but nothing too long term. Lawsuit is STILL going on after 3 years.

Sorry to hear about that...........there is no winning when ones health is compromised.

I had a kid shove a plywood shelf into my back several years ago. Used an 18 wheeler. Caused a lot of lingering problems but could have been worse.

It was pure, unadulterated hell for a long time.

Yeah, I hear that. I'm still dealing with the effects. I'm pretty much stuck with a lot of shoulder girdle issues for the rest o' my life.

This right here is why I rarely offer help - the answer is right there, but you are apparently too lazy to go and find it.

Good show tumbletits.

The action scripting of Photoshop is actually quite powerful - just bother to learn how to use it instead of writing it off with cop outs.

I had a big rant on here, but it was as worthless as this thread, so no need.

The arrogance of some computer users earns them a certain reputation among those who are simply forced to try to use them.

If sitting at my computer was not so damned comfortable, I would have many better things to do than attempt communication with your soul less minds.
