Problem areas, lol

Hey girls,
I'm new and in desperate need of advise, lol. Anyway, i'll give u a bit of a history. I had a HORRENDOUS year and unfortunately dealt with that by eating enough to feed a small country (or maybe larger?). I gained a wopping 30 lbs, and have managed to take off about 15 of them. I changed my diet, no more fast food, but don't really have a clue about what should be eaten to loose weight. I try to lay off the carbs, but I get really dizzy and actually fainted from 2 weeks of Atkins. I'm Irish, love those potatoes.
Anyway, another prob. besides the diet is I seem to be loosing weight everywhere but where I am concerned about. My legs are starting to look great but my stomach is not looking so hot. Legs and arms are doing quite well, but this middle section seems to be quite content at the size it is :worried: . I'm doing cardio for about 30-40 minutes a minimum of 4 times a week, and I lift weights as well. Obviously there is more I can be doing... any suggestions??

Hrmm i don't really have a structured eating plan. In the morning I usually eat half a cup of oatmeal or 3-4 eggwhites with a piece of toast. The rest of the day is usually up in the air with either salads, cans of tuna, or maybe a sandwhich, I eat a LOT of chickpeas as well. Night is my biggest problem as thats when I feel the urge to munch, so I try eating carrot sticks at night with some low fat dip I concocted one evening. I also have a tendency to drink quite a bit of coffee during the day, with 2 sweetners and 2 milks, although I've really been trying to up my water intake.

What are you eating for dinner?

How about this, write everything and its quantity that touches your lips and when you ate it.

Aim for a gallon of water per day.
Oh and chug down some really cold water whenever you get the munchies.
 
Alright, tomorrow I am gonna track everything as today I'm embarrased to write what i ate, lol. I ate very little and what I did was bad. Christmas was hard on my waistline, lol

Don't be embarrased - you don't have to post it just have it so you can compare it to some various diets people are doing here now or shortly.

No need to be enbarrassed - we all had to start somewhere. Plus, everyone here needs help in some area...it might be training, diet, sleep, supplementation, etc.... We ALL have to keep changing, modifying, asking for help! :)

I usually find that if I have the urge to cheat at night, I didn't eat enough during the day... even when trying to lose bodyfat...
 
Turn night binges into a positive.
Have a protien shake ready and if you cant fight the urge, at least youll be contributing to your physique...
 
omg daisy you look amazing! How long did it take you to loose the whole 30 lbs?? Also, any ideas on a good protein shake? I've never had one before, lol, so i have no clue what i would be looking for in one. I take this one pill from GNC called Cuts, it apparently gives you more energy and helps you burn fat.... it does nothing. I find I get more energy from drinking a coffee before working out.

Without knowing exactly what you eat day-to-day, my suspiscion is that you aren't eating enough overall and this is either causing your metabolism to crash, or causing you to binge in the evenings (more likely both to some extent). Either of these will be bad for fat loss.

It took 16 weeks. :)

Protein shakes are protein shakes.....you just have to find one you like that has the macronutrient breakdown you want.

I drink all Muscle Tech shakes (most people here know why). I really do love the Nitro Tech shakes, but they are quite expensive. I think they taste the best though.

Basiclly, you have to experiment. Go to your supplement shop and get a couple single serving packets for various proteins. They are usually about $2.00 each. This way, you can try them without buying a whole container. I would look for something other than GNC - they are VERY expensive. Do you have any other supplement shops in your area?

I would skip the "fat burners" for now. The actual boost in your metabolism will be very minimal unless it has Ephedra or Ephedrine HCl in it. :( Diet is where you need to focus on.
