Prisoners go for a beer run

The party’s over for four inmates accused of going on a beer run after the jail’s doors were accidentally left unlocked.
The men were charged Monday with escape and bringing alcohol into a jail.
“I guess they thought if they came back they wouldn’t be charged with escape,” Rimer said, “but they were wrong.”

Why would you come back? jeezus

I would have let them off easy and let them keep the beer since they came back....

but they would have to drink it in solitary...

that pretty much sums it up :supercool

Was this a jail or prison?

I can see going back if it's jail and you're due to stand trial.

But if it's prison, don't even look back.

wht is funny is dudes took multiple runs ("Dude I went last time!")

What's the difference? I always thought they were just synonyms.

occurred Thursday night after cellblock doors at the Hawkins County Jail

dont know if that answers ur question

Ohhhh no.
Jail, like county jails hold non-felons and those awaiting trial that did not get bail or cannot afford bail. Think prison-lite.

Prison is for convicted felons.

Just to clarify, for those of you that care, county jails throughout the land hold many convicted felons...ie bad people.

Typically, a person sentenced to less than a year (ie not a felon) will serve their sentence at a county jail, whereas a felon with a multi year sentence will get the state pen. However, due to the overcrowding of state prisons, state prison inmates are released to county jail to serve their last year.

County jails often are littered with people sentenced to 10 years for manslaugher (for example) who have already served 9 years in prison.

It's not really prison-lite anymore.
