my cousin was in the pen and he had seen season 3 of the sopranos before i had when that was playing
 
They definitly were ready to move some weight. That's probably one of the only highlights of the year for them though, so I can see why they were so pumped to get in there and compete. Their adreniline looked like it was really flowing.
 
They were probably talking about the event daily for 3 months leading up to it then for the next 3 months after. This was for sure a highlight of their year.

Though it's clear some had better genetics than others, I don't think there's any juice involved there ...just calories & pushin' big weight

perfect example of what you can do with diet & weights alone
 
most mid level and minimum security federal pens have weights, a movie viewing area, and telephones where you can buy up to 300 minutes a month to use.
 
That actually looks like fun doing it in a big group with 2 coaches,
Those guys look like prison is helping there lives, better than sitting around
Doing drugs.

Yep thats prolly what they have learned to love to do even if they enjoyed it somewhat before they went in. Dunno about you guys but I feel like a new man often when I go in the gym already having a good day or a really bad day and I leave it all on the gym floor when I leave and lemme tell ya it feels fuckin awesome as im sure you all know or most of you know. I cant imagine being confined like that tho but I def think those guys are bettering themselves and channeling all their hormones and anger into movin big weight and feelin good about personal goals rather than acting on violence with other inmates.
 
As most of you know I just got out in Feb 07. We did not have any weights because I was in a Max facility. However, I did push ups, dips, chins, and we also manufactured our own weights and hid them in our cells. I did this every day for over 4 years. When I got out I was a ripped 186lbs. I hit my first cycle and gained over 20 lbs and kept every bit of it. The isometric exercises i did in the joint really set the stage nicely for hitting a heavy cycle right when I got out.. And by the way there were guys in there with me that were so motherfucking big and natural it would blow your mind.
