Let's say you are faced with the choice of the "Love of your Life" or "Your Job", which you worked extremely hard to get and enjoy. What would you choose...??? And No...you can't have both...

Love Of Your Life...

...can always get another job...

...now if you said love of your life or job of your life...that's hard

I'd say the love of your life, because we all know that true love is rare and precious.

Jobs are everywhere, true love is usually once in a lifetime IF THAT.

Love of your life

I would take the job of a life.

I really don't care for being in love very much.

I get great satisfaction out of a great job.

I hope to have one someday.

But if she brought bread to the table...................... or needed little............things could change.

You sound like you've been through some rough shit, bro.

Women aren't all that bad, you just have to find the one that clicks with you and one you can trust.

There are a lot of good jobs but, by definition, the "Love of your Life" is unique

Who holds on to a job for their whole life anyway? The love of your life is just that, your life.

I read about a Canadian guy that designed and made boat propellors for 65 years. Owned the company that long. Died at 93 and was going strong until a few months ago.

Rumor has it that he educated himself on Bushbarian policies and his heart failed.

Another casualty of the Bushbarians.

True story until the end.

I have had 10 bad female experiences for every good one.

I tend to nip possible relationships very quickly.

Unless they want to spend the night.

"The Dream Job of your Life"....

Fuck the job. I'd even settle for the fuck of my life over the job. But that's just me.

Jobs are highly overrated....

That's easy to say for someone who doesn't work. LOL. I envy you.

Story?! There is no story...:)

For me I would choose love of my life...like it has been said it is "rare and precious"

but I would feel awfully guilty to have someone give up the opportunity of job of their life for me...

FINE!! I'll leave the military for you. Just give it about 2 years ok? They have this stipulation about leaving before your contract is up.

:worried: Oh No!! No everyone is going to know the real truth about us!!

Hey, btw...I never knew you posted on this board...

You are getting an attitude.

Gonelifting asked who holds unto their job their entire life.

No I'm not. I was just wondering why you had to add the part about Bush. Had nothing to do with what he was talking about.

And they thought you were just someone giving me training advice from time to time. :p

Where else do you think I post? Been here for over 4 years toots, and don't seem to be going anywhere any time soon.

Biteme: I think those kind of replies are mandated to these types of posts, and since it's Saturday night there are not too many people to do it.

Hmmmm....guess you just have to add that remark to my quarterly review. :)

Or you could write me up.

Suspend me?

Fine me?

I was just wondering what happened to the ole chap. First thing to come to mind.

Women are dumb peices of ass it seems these days. Take the job, and find a new girl if she's not willing to follow you on your career.

When my hun met me she had a top notch job, and she kept it,however the 100 mile commute was too much and took its toll, My business was established so i couldn't move, so i told her to quit i made enough money that it was no problem.
Luckly after bombing out several times in this town she finally landed a job that pays as much as mine.

True love only comes around ever so rarely.

P.S . We celebrate our 25th anniversary in nov. ;)

Jobs are going to come and go;

Why are you on the rebound with Bunny?

I feel like I've been cheated here. What makes you think either Seashell or Bunny is worth fighting over?

Man this thread is like a kick in the gut.

What if the choice is between not just a job, but your entire career, because your skill set isn't transferrable to wherever you are headed. Moreover, you likely would never earn a tenth of what yuo currently do in that market?

love

if i was sure mylife would be emptier without her then i wouldnt need to even think about it. Luckily my job skill is needed everywhere so I'd be ok. And even if it wasn't I'd probably give it a try.

Well....you can have toga because she's a raging alcoholic and hotbuffet will no longer give it up. I realize BBF turned you down and AAP does not find you attractive.

In the meantime...I'll keep Bunny's sloppy 102nds

That's how I was t reating it.
A job is a job - easily replaced - but a dream career that was worked hard for is something else entirely.

Love is always grand while at the base and top of the mountain but what will you feel when you've fallen into the valley and your perspective has changed?

I would personally choose love. Unfortunately my ex-wife is like you velvett and chose her job over me. I work to live, but she lives to work.

This thread is stupid, we need more pics of hot girls in bikinis to cheer it up.

I dont think the two are similar at all. For one I think Velvett is opining on a decision made far in advance of marriage.

There is also a difference between giving up a career and giving up a job on a farm or driving a truck. Especially when neither is apparently paying very well.

Velvett is talking about something not replacable or transferrable. In many cases its all you know.

Forge said:

Well, in my own defense, I have never married while your ex-wife had married you so she must have put you first at some time in her life. You can not lump every female that wants her own career to be "like your wife" that hurt you or ruined your life.

I don't have a job, I have a career, my own business - I have to be extrememly selfish with my time to have time to myself. I have to expect to be with a man that is very much like myself or someone that excepts me and my choosen lifestyle. I am fully aware as to what aspects of life I am giving up and while at times it might sadden or push me to feel left out, at this time I feel it is the best thing for my life.

It is up to me whether or not I can make my career work or not and even if I fail I am still in control of where it could potenially head. The concept of "true love" while desirable is not tangible, it's not real, it's very much like luck and one can't control the presence of luck.

That sounds like a no win situation to me.... A job is a job so who cares where you work. But if you a person who has their dream career and opportunity in front of them- that makes you who you are. It defines you as a person and is not just a paycheck.

What makes you who you are is what the other person should have fallen in love with. You would not be that person anymore if you gave it up.

Money and work comes and goes....who cares. Doing what you feel you were put here on earth to do is different. Although, few people ever get this chance either.
