Preworkout Shake Idea

Ok, since I'm in the office and no blender, what if I took 2tb of peanut butter and stuck it in the microwave, THEN added it to my pro complex 55 powder w/ H20 and shool it up....this might work, no? Otherwise, the ANPB just sits at the bottom..........hmmmm....

I'm not sure if that would work. If you're like me, you like ANPB for 2 reasons:
1) It's Necessary.
2) It helps with taste.

What you might want to do instead is "coat" your tounge AKA just like some ANPB off of a spoon, then take a chug of your shake and swallow.

I know that my cheap protein from the protein factory tastes pretty ok by itself as long as its diluted on down (I personally like a thick shake). Maybe you should give that a try? I just kind of think that a warm shake (from microwaving the ANPB) might be kind of nasty. The problem is that the ANPB is just to thick to mix. I think it's going to have to be blended. I know the longer I blend the more consistent the taste is.

Ok...what if I (lol) put the pb only in the microwave, till it get syrupy.....then, dump it in my shaker with my protein, water and ice....and shake........that HAS to work........Im a genious!

fudddddgeeee...it sucked.......better than nothing though,,,,,,blender and fridge from now on.....lol

Hey bro,

Hope this helps.

I use pro complex and don't use a blender. I take a coffee mug, add the complex (two scoops, more like 100g of material, actually), and then add just enough water to dissolve it (not even the full mug, maybe 2/3s). Stir with a spoon and chug. You can mix in things like L-glutamine, creatine, or dextrose or whatever.

Tastes terrible, but goes down in about 10 seconds max. No pain no gain.

Maybe keep the ANPB on a seperate spoon and eat it normally.

I just mix mine up like a thick pudding and eat it with a spoon. It doesn't have to be a liquid or anything.

When away from home, we use a "bamix" type blender. It is an electric hand blender. It fits right into the cup and mixes in the ANPB just fine. However it won't crush the ice.

I get the same problem with my natty pb in a shake. In any event, try mixing in some bcaa's into your preworkout mix. They have been show to greatly reduce muscle catabolism while training. I usually do 5 grams of bcaa's pre and post workout. At least we all know now that the microwave trick isn't a good idea. Thanks for being our guine pig bro.

No prob....thought it would work, but it didn't....I mix in creatine and glutamine in both my shakes...will add the other essentials in today...thnx.....I decided to take a mrp pre-workout and whey/glucose post......anpb will go in my mid am shake instead of mrp....so looks like this:

#1 12 egg whites, tb of olive oil, 3/4 cup oats, 1/2 scoop protein
#2 55g protein w/ 2 tbs of anpb (instead of mrp)
#3 6oz yam, 7-8oz chx, good size salad with veggies, steamed greenbeans
#4 (pre) Myoplex/Metrx w/ tb of flax
#5 (post) 55g of whey, glucose, creatine BCAA
#6 6-7oz chx/beef, plate of steamed veggies, small salad

just before bed (35g of slow dig. pro, 2-3 cups roasted peanuts, maybe some veggies and ff dip.......half a homemade protein bar (if hungry)

what do you think?

Good, alot of essential fats and green veggies (something even alot of bodybuilders are lacking). I think you are drowning in protien shakes, but if you don't have the appetite to take in that much complete protien in the form of food, you do what you must. What do your micro-nutrient ratios and total calories look like?

The other thing you might want to look at is some additional omega 3's. It looks like you are getting enough omega 6 and 9 fats for optimal gains, but another tbs or two of flax and a few fish oil tabs wouldn't hurt.

WOW! An "almost" approval by BBF.....I just started bulking up the cals to put on some mass and am finding it difficult to get down that mcuh food.....when I stomach begins to "learn" and expand, I'll move out the shakes and bring in the food......I've never counting cals in my life, just protein. Know how many I need to grow, but just gotta keep my fats high when I cut.....went from 240 and about 11%, to 189 and 6%, but lost WAYYY too much mass......Bench went down 75lbs, but also due to a partial cuff tear.......gonna hit a sus250 and deca 10 weeker and follow it up with a equip, winny and possibly t400 to cut back down........we'll see......

Honeslty, all my shakes right now in the proper place......maybe mid-am should be a meal like tuna and brown rice, but like I said, gotta do it slowly.........
