Seeing a doc tomorrow.

I recently (Sunday) switched up my workouts to include more high intensity cardio training. Today about 15 minutes after coming home dripping with sweat, my upper back starts hurting like a bitch and I get short of breath. I suddenly start producing ungodly amounts of mucus in my throat that I was hacking up for a good hour. Didnt wanna call an ambulamps, but even now 6 hours later my lungs still feel a bit constricted.

Bitch of this is that my appointment isnt till 1:30pm tomorrow and I have to fast for 12 hours beforehand. Fuck.

Thanks nugga. Sure its no big deal. I read they can just give me an inhaler to use 30 mins before workout.
 
Good luck bro...i'm sure you'll be ok. It's probably because you're not used to the level of intensity that you put yourself under.
 
yeah you might just want to ease up on the cardio for a few and ease back into it. NO matter what good luck!
 
Glad you are taking it seriously. Could be that you overdid it, could be that you have something going on in your lungs you don't know about, could be that you're getting allergies (I have allergies...I was struggling a for breath this afternoon after walking down a street with trees that were throwing pollen like a mofo).
 
My usual Crossfit workouts consist of weights alternated by sprints with no rest inbetween. Granted, those workouts tend to take about 20 minutes or so, whereas I was doing high intensity cardio (sprints, suicides, etc) for a good 40 minutes. This type of thing never gave me problems earlier in my life...maybe its because Im getting older.
 
The pollen count is out of control lately, especially around Chicagoland, that could be something. Good luck, either way.

40 minutes of super hard cardio would be enough to make my body think it was dying since I'm used to the more low intensity stuff (jogging)
 
Ya I do tend to have allergies, and I read that the pollen could be a culprit. Oh well...maybe the doc will hook me up with some free albuterol.

Well there's your problem right there. To hell with that cardio stuff. Just get under heavy weight and push like hell.
