you guys preparing for any winter meets? what does your routine look like? What numbers and bodyweight are you shooting for?

Mysely, preping for a feb meet. routine is german 3*3. targeted lifts are sq-465, bp-320, dl 515 raw, clean and at 180 lbs.

I used to compete at 181 (82,5kg) class. :)

I'm going to look for a meet in jan/feb (most likely feb).
because of back issues, i'll probably only bench since i decided i wouldn't deadlift unless i got over 300 and i'm not back there yet. (i sprained my back last year)
If its a raw only meet, i'll try for 175 probably.
if i can wear a shirt and i have someone to help me into my shirt (*coughwnt2bbeastcough*) i'll try for 215-225

im trying to get your clothes off why would i help you put them on!!!! LOL
yes i will help ya sweety..i just hope you make it out of the locker room and onto the bench in time lol

Gam- i switched my training from 5x5 and im using WSB for squat/dead and im rotating between WSB ME and Metal Militia for my bench

lol... yes, good point.
but the next time you go to a meet, you'll notice that people don't usually go to the locker room to do much of anything, other than put on a squat suit since most women wear thongs under them and its the most embarrassing thing to get on anyway.
so if you're gonna make a move, you'll have to do it out in the open.

hey bor, ever heard of the german 3*3 routine? kinda crazy, but you bp, sq, and dl three times a week, no assitance work whatsoever...what do you think?

lol, doesn't sound very good to me, but you should try it and let us know how it works for you

i've heard of something like that..have you used it before? personally i would overtrain hitting those things 3 times a week i think.. granted there is no assistance..but heres what i think suppose your dead is weak off the floor..what would you do to fix that-block pulls and such- if you keep doing full pulls your never going to really solve your weaknesses.

The other thing ive learned is that we are all different, while something may not work for me it may be a godsend for someone else..i can tell you from what i see and read: there are those that do a very simple 3-day routine (and put up huge numbers) and then there are those that do a shitload of assistance work (they also put up huge numbers lol)..personally im somewhwere in the middle i need to be in the gym 4 days per week but im learning not to overdue things
 
deepsquatter is a good site..if your not registered you should
take a look at the training logs especailly john bernor (wpo lifter)
very simple, heavy weights, not a lot of assistance..this guy sqauttes over 1k
ive seen some of his squat workouts hell work up to a heavy set of 5 reps then do a few sets of pause squats that would be it..

deepsquatter is an excellent site. i've trained with some of the people on that forum and i've done some work with the owner, jason burnell.

interesting read. it sounds like it could have promise although the russians and the eastern bloc have used the conjugate method since long before the US. however, nothing can be dispelled until it is tried for oneself. i'm doing fine on my current setup and will continue, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't give it a try if you are not having success with your current routine. good luck and let us know what you decide to do and how it works out for you
